We need to talk seriously about the music video for Heil Hitler. I realize there are kanye threads speaking generally about this latest arc, but this video in particular deserves special discussion.
Everything in this very simple, monochromatic, 2 minute 41 second music video is intentional. To say it's satire is true but reductive. This video wants you to look it in the eye.

The video opens on a black man, naked, wearing the face of an animal - a predator. This is how people see black people: animal, dangerous. Screen goes to black. When we come back there are ranks of naked black men baring muscles and wearing animal skins.

As we hear the narrator scream into the void about his impotent rage the camera slowly, very slowly pans over black faces. These lyrics are not about KANYE himself, they are from the point of view of every black man. Black men cannot express anger with the same freedom that white men can, this is a fact. Black men have to suppress their feelings much more than white men because if a black goes apeshit they will probably end up in jail in situations where white men could just go home.

Indeed, for centuries white men have done whatever they want with impunity, sometimes resulting in the suffering and death of other people. And yet Kanye has achieved everything every American wants to achieve and can't even see his children. He isn't asking to kill a whore, enslave a human, or any of the other nefarious things white uppercrust have got away with - he just wants to see his kids.

What is a man to do when you see him as an animal, a predator, a villain? is becoming the villain the only way to make the world hear you? And yet a black artist releases a video depicting black people wearing the same garb as jan 6th rioters, saying the same things white people say every day, and the corporate sphere wont let his voice out. In a world where everything is crazy, to censor an artist for being too crazy is absolutely absurd.

This line reflects the desire to break out of a fucked up system that seems to be built against YOU in particular, while highlight the proclivity of drug use in disenfranchised communities. Kanye has been alienated from the world at large and his own world (his children). Is this fair? Plenty of mentally ill people have access to their children and nobody gives a fuck what they say on social media.

What is he doing here? Is he using this language to inflame people to hate? No. Absolutely not and if you listen to the music that plays during this hook you'll no it isnt inflammatory. It's a little sad. There is power in the chord progression but it's tinged with sadness. There is a call to arms but it's tinged with a timidity that only a marginalized group could feel.
There is a striking overhead shot about 2/3s through that shows the ranks and it looks like an American flag. These are the beasts rallying together because they have nobody else to rally with. Is this a commentary on villains in society at large? A commentary on blacks as villains specifically? A representation of Kanye and his supporters?

Someone else on here commented about the translation of the speech but I can't find it now. But if what they said was correct, this speech sample is prime ragebait - a joke. Hitler doesn't speak about race at all in the sample, it's about seeing his work. kanye is saying, essentially, "If you know my work, if you know what I do and what I am, support me"
He knows this song isn't going to be understood by the riffraff, but that his true fans will understand.
This entire album so far, and this song in particular, challenges the hypocrisy of a terminally online society which has become disconnected from humanity and authenticity. It challenges a society that says a rich white man who supports nazis can be president. but a rich black artist who dresses like a nazi should be silenced.
