Unless there's some specific you liked about it, or you specifically want like "more extreme" stuff, there isn't much more you can be pointed to.

I like to delve into bands instead of going from classic to classic. I tried Melvins and Electric Wizard because I like layered fuzzy guitar tones with catchy melodies (I was a big fan of Siamese Dream before) so I probably want something that follows that direction (pumpkins, type o, EW)

You can use midi or I do it ghetto by using an audio splitter for the audio output and plugging one into the mic port of the laptop and doing it through audacity (as I have no idea how to record and use midi).
