I think Youthanasia is their most underrated. Super melodic and catchy but still heavy and fun.
This reminds me, Halford wrote in his book that the first time Maiden performed before Priest Dianno said something along the lines of that "they will make them kneel before us". Halford commented that it's exactly what young bands should say, to be cocky and shit. And also wrote that (I think) KK Downing got so fucking butthurt by this that it lasted literal decades. He even took offense when Maiden sit down to watch their sound check on that tour. Kek.
Also I'm really satisfied because even Halford thinks Defenders of the faith was one of their absolute peak (the greatest heavy metal album ever released if you didn't know).
Fuck I forgot what I wanted to say in the first place, that Halford made a remark that he'd have liked that...getting on his knees before them. Also he wrote that one time he got shitfaced with Dianno and invited him to his room (on that tour). Dianno was too drunk to get the hint and just passed out in Halford's room and Halford wrote he himself was also too fucking drunk to do anything anyway but it's better that Dianno didn't even get what he was "playing for".
