I love ghost, they are wonderfully silly. They are 80s metalhead silly. Papa Perpetua V for next Pope when Francis goes to that big metal concert in the sky.

Same and I love that "real" metal heads hate them. Just makes me like Ghost even more. Great image, great hooks and even better riffs. Whats not to love?

At this point I'll always listen when Ghost puts out something new just because I loved their first iteration so much but ever since the OG members left and they've got less heavy and basically turned in to an 80s arena rock act that teenage girls goon to its just not the same.They're basically just spirit halloween def leppard now.
I'm still not sure whether to blame this on the OG's leaving or Mary on a Cross though.

anon is probably talking about an interview Tobias did on it, he didn't say that is was rejected by the producer just that it wasn't included in the album, doesn't sound like he had fully made the song at the point just demo'ed the riffs for it

They were butthurt that they were just hired gun touring musicians and he wouldn't let them write songs. So he fired them and they sued him and lost.
Now Tobias is more successful than ever because hes the one that writes everything anyway and the current touring guys are tight as hell.

Too many matal bands now are too edgy and whiney and trying to be cool or there are downright parody bands. Ghost sits on the fence perfectly and actually has hooky choruses.
