1. Loaded - The Velvet Underground
2. Exile on Main Street - The Rolling Stones
3. The White Album - The Beatles
4. Doolittle - The Pixies
5. The Blue Album - Weezer
Top 5 albums
based
4 and 5 are cringe
no they're not
YES, YES THEY ARE
You're cringe.
you shouldn't be able to come up with a top 5 desu
why not
Loaded is not even the best VU album. But I will always agree that "Rock and Roll" and "Sweet Jane" are 10/10 songs.
2 > 4 > 3 > 1 > 5
i would put the other VU albums above like any others aside those 4
of Montreal, Ariel Pink, Neutral Milk Hotel, Eric's Trip, these all get honorable mentions of course
You are a skinny college puke who wears ironic clothing.
no i'm an overweight incel who lives in my parents' basement
Because there are too many good albums to be able to pick a top 5
eh
how are you gonna pick TVU's 4th best record
those are great records
Oh sweet nothing is the best vu song
1. The Beatles - Revolver
2. The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico
3. The Stooges - Fun House
4. Joy Division - Closer
5. Os Mutantes - A divina comédia ou ando meio desligado
Pavement-Wowee Zowee
Built to Spill-Perfect From Now On
Talking Heads-Remain in Light
Jane's Addiction-Ritual De Lo Habitual
King Crimson-Discipline
almost picked pink floyd, but yes its not easy to single out 5 left out a lot of favorites like Siamese Dream
nvm erase all of those and just put Tim Buckley Lorca, how could i be so forgetful
i've never listened to Built to Spill
the other three are all like equally amazing
but Loaded is the best album ever by anyone
start with Perfect From Now On, its the closest thing to prog rock indie without really being "post rock", their 2nd record is filled with simple catchy tunes, and their first is lofi rawness but certainly still flawed. Modest Mouse thought very highly of them
also that live album is maybe the best live album ever
respect, its filled with great songs but personally I feel its too perfected and each of the prior records have that edgy flawed quality that makes TVU the original underground rockers making choices labels wouldnt approve of
roger that. LOVE modest mouse
that's a valid viewpoint
1. Highway 61 Revisited
2. Bringing It All Back Home
3. Freewheelin'
4. Blonde on Blonde
5. Blood on the Tracks
Glad I'd hoped that edition would entice you
youtu.be
1. Astral Weeks - Van Morrison
2. Sign "" the Times - Prince
3. Discovery - Daft Punk
4. Exile on Main Street - Rolling Stones
5. Halcyon Days - Deerhunter
Prince's best album
nice one anon
Well you still wear ironic attire.
out of all those artists the only one you picked right was the beatles
Not the biggest fan of loaded, but it's fine. The rest of these are some cool albums for sure.
Don't see much Os Mutantes love on this board! Nice picks
Wowee Zowee is great, I'd agree that it's their best. I vibe with your picks the most out of this thread. And Lorca is amazing!
Time out of mind deserves a spot imo
Deerhunter! Also, I feel like no one talks about any prince records other than Purple Rain on this board, so that's cool. Astral Weeks is based too.
I know I'm a little basic, but here's mine:
1. Ok Computer - Radiohead
2. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco
3. Souvlaki - Slowdive
4. In The Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel
5. The Velvet Underground and Nico - The Velvet Underground and Nico
Mellon Collie
Melissa
Turn on the Bright Lights
When The Kite String Pops
Funhouse
honorable mentions
Vespertine, Bone Machine, Rain Dogs, Strange Days, Clube da Esquina, Dopethrone, Korn (self titled), Ok Computer, In Rainbows, Blood, Fire & Death, Mechanical Animals, Low, Teenage Snuff Film, Foxtrot, Animals, Discipline, Bubblegum
when i think about it, i think all of these the same, depends on the day
bizarre mix quite frankly
good pics aswell though these days I think TVU 2nd and 3rd are their best achievements, Nico sort feels like a forced model onto the band that lacked their talents. Her songs aren't bad but its their reputation that makes everyone say shes perfect with them
1) Joanna Newsom - Ys
2) Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
3) Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
4) Leonard Cohen - Songs of Leonard Cohen
5) The Band - The Band
I guess I've got a type.
So many great albums. I'd move Freewheelin' down a spot or two, personally.
Starset - Horizons
Smashing Pumpkins - Melon Collie
Metallica - RtL
Failure - Fantastic Planet
Breaking Benjamin - Phobia
The fucking format is “artist - album”, not the other way around. Jesus Christ this triggers me
1. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
2. Abbey Road - The Beatles
3. Selected Ambient Works 85-92 - Aphex Twin
4. Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
5. IX. Symphonie - Herbert von Karajan
