I did dash the list off a bit quickly yes. It is proof of how strong the '60s were that there weren't really many truly bad songs out there although so far as there are bad songs they tended to be more in 60-64 rather than 65-69. With the '50s for contrast it's easy to come up with obvious offenders.

The early '60s was a period when 11 year old girls were the only discernable audience for pop music. Songs were incredibly saccharine, dopey, and innocent, and once JFK got his brains splattered the culture overnight became a lot edgier and edgy music was back on the menu.
