They were big back in the day, but nowadays aren't as celebrated as other DM bands. I've always found them to be merely okay. I suppose they did that vocal-layering thing and pushed the satanic themes harder than any other DM band at the time. Generally satanism isn't something that's associated heavily with DM and is more of a BM thing.

They had a tour and were to play London at a gay club (just as a venue hire). I was so looking forward to it, it sounded perfect.... and the pandemic happened. It was all cancelled.
One of my favourite stories is one of the guitarists (they've had loads now, every other week) got up and walked out of the studio, and they never heard from him ever again. I think Glen said they didn't even know why, he walked out of the room, and he just vanished.

Yes it does, I agree. Perhaps cannibal corpse were later to the party than Deicide and at some point Deicide, EntombeD, Bolt Thrower, Carcass (and others) did carry on the baton from Venom or whoever the fuck into what became Death Metal.
