Usually I'm against the idea of bandmembers being "useless" because I think even if they're overshadowed by the others, they can have important contributions behind the scenes and have a big impact on the recording and composing side of things.

...there are exceptions to this rule, though.

Long, Long, Long is better than a lot of John and Paul songs.

t. easily the biggest Beatles specialist here

Piggies isn't that bad, you guys are just a bunch of pseuds.

any member in a band that has more than 5 members and guitar, bass, vocals, drums and keys are already taken.

Piggies is kino, they just have piggie wife’s and live a piggy life, that’s why it gets hated

Wrong, they were all great musicians and contributed to CCR's unique sound. Doug and Stu were a great, ripping rhythm section and John Fogerty himself has said Tom's rhythm guitar was the linchpin of their sound. Listen to their live recordings and you'll see what I mean.

Happy Pride month!

Literally the 2nd greatest rhythm player of his time

Not only is it "not that bad", it's legitimately fucking top tier

I was recently watching clips from the "Get Back" documentary footage and got to the point where George had already walked out, and the other 3 were starting their rehearsal for I've Got a Feeling and John jokingly says "Take it from the top Geroge" and the camera pans over to George's microphone with him not there and I thought it was pretty funny. George wasn't even a particularly good guitarist, and I remember Paul actually had to fill in several of his guitar parts that he just couldn't play, but what I do think George brought to the table was the bands overall sound and extra creativity, since he did have a lot of good ideas, even if he didn't always know how to execute them. Hell, his solo work is proof he had a lot of good ideas
