Yo so I bought an octave fuzz pedal thinking it would be a way to play shit an octave up but that’s not really how it works. So I’m gonna get a Digitech Whammy, I think. While I’m buying pedals, I kind of need an OD/Distortion as I just have the Octave Fuzz and a Big Muff. Questions-

1. Is the Digitech Whammy the best one
2. I like the Hot Wax because it has two buttons so I can go from some drive to loads of drive while playing, is this the best option that does this?

Digitech whammy is the best pedal bar none. Their polyphonic pitch shifting is unmatched. You could save a couple hundred and get the digitech drop if you don’t need the whammy pedal. It will still do octaves. Digitech is so good that it is unnoticeable in a gig. I use one for all my drop tunings.

Aside from lowering the threshold of your noisegate it’s all technique. Vibrato and proper fretting. Unless you have dogshit pickups. I get great sustain on every guitar I play.

I just noticed you said you wanted to play an octave up in which case the whammy is what you need. Drop only does drop tunings and octave. Whammy can pitch shift both up and down and has variable intervals for harmonies. It can also be used as a tremolo bar for dive bombs. Very cool pedal that is worth the money.

for the OD/distortion get a rat

Fuck yeah. My woman has me playing a couple songs by Phim Viphurit (sp) and they are a lot of fun. I don’t really like his music but that young chinaman can play a guitar

Also the really cool thing about the whammy pedal is that you can pitch shift a half step up for songs like I feel like a woman or jump that are in F natural. Or anything that uses a capo like wonderwall or free fallin. You could even use it for songs like summer nights by Van Halen that he used the locking tremolo on to change keys. Very cool piece of kit.

I'll see if I keep guitar after the lessons. I cant play chords to save my life but I was able to take the ionian shape I practiced on bass and use it on guitar to know scales. I guess I'll keep doing this until I go back to bass practice

I bought a guitar off a session musician and he had the neck pickup lowered quite far into the body and the bridge pickup nearly touching the strings. I don’t know if everyone was doing this already and I am a retard or not but it’s really cool. Switching to the bridge pickup is like a boost pedal

If you’re going to go with a Les Paul and want a modern color that pops go for a blueberry burst. Shell pink doesn’t belong on a Les Paul. If you’re not going for modern I’d go with an alpine white or black

Wdym? I don’t like reaper because it saves every take in an audio file, has bugs that ruin takes, and has a terrible gui. I use Luna from universal audio, which I’ve found to be quite pleasant to use and on par with pro tools or logic. I don’t know exactly what you mean by multiple devices. I have a midi keyboard plugged into USB, and a universal audio volt audio interface that I plug my guitar into, and I can have virtually unlimited tracks on either at the same time.

It might be my metronome's fault, it can record, but only by itself. Everything was great while there was only IR-200 connected, but also recording from model samples is a fucking mess, and I expected DAW to manage the mess, buffers, resampling, working with multiple drivers, lagging one input against another, etc. not ASIO4ALL, which doesn't really work that well
