What concerts did you go to this year?
What did you think of them?
Did you get any merch?
What concerts did you go to this year?
I don't ever go to concerts.
slowdive was one of the best sets i've seen in a whiiile. they sounded perfect
also a band i'm in played its first show this year and one of the bands we got to join the bill had a member pass away a month later, so it ended up being one of their last shows. heartbreaking, their set was already great and now it's one of the most memorable to me. so grateful they played with us and they were all so kind
Just saw Babymetal a few weeks ago. They were great but the crowd sucked. Been to a few no-name/lesser name post hardcore and metal shows this year and those are always fun. Hail The Sun with A Lot Like Birds has been my favorite show so far this year.
I missed so many great shows this year. Either I didn't have the money, or work, or family stuff. Really sucks. I did go see Delta Sleep a few weeks ago, and they crushed it and killed it. Better than they usually sound live judging from YouTube videos. I didn't get wearable merch, but I did get all the vinyl they had. That way I won't have to pay UK shipping rates to get them.

Fucking hell you must do this every weekend.
Which ones were your favorites?
Were they all local shows or did you travel around?
Every concert is the same with 10000 retards holding up their phones the whole time
no one cares, faggot
in a whiiile
kys
i stopped going to shows when audiences became mostly made up of zoomers who don't know how to behave in public
A lot of them were festivals which I travelled to, i live in an area with not a lot of bands that come thru. Top 5 were Streetlight, madball, death cab / postal, deftones, agent orange
deftones
This. They're too loud.
kek
the audience was pretty solidly gen x and millenial
I saw Thom Yorke live a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty good except the people around me kept singing so I couldn’t actually hear his voice that well
Me and a buddy are thinking about going to see Franz Ferdinand next year.
How are they live?
Machine Girl
That new “MG Ultra” album was actual audioAIDS with 0% staying power…. in fact, outside of a couple tracks on REPORPOISED PHANTASIES, this entire decade has been penis poop for Matt. Dude fell off fucking hard.
Keep tweeting about Gaza instead of focusing on your craft though.
I saw John Maus and it was biblical
my friends are going to see them live in Portland this Friday
i only liked that one album they did, BECAUSE IM YOUNG ARROGANT AND HATE EVERYTHING YOU STAND FOR
+ i feel like going to a machine girl concert would actually kill me with my anxiety issues
kill me with my anxiety issues
Why? You don't have to talk to anyone or go into the mosh pit if you don't want to.
People will be pretty chill since they're weirdos anyway.
went to well over fifty shows so far this year and have a few more lined up still but highlights so far were Kali Malone, Swans, Frail Body, Agriculture and The Body x Dis Fig
nah it isn't that it's everything else @_@
Just The Smashing Pumpkins and Beat
Best shows I've seen this year, Ladytron, Sunn O))), Seefeel, Ryosuke Kiyasu, John Maus, The Serfs.
Most average shows/most disappointing probably Slowdive or A Place to Bury Strangers, okay both of them, but the former had way too many kids filming tiktoks or whatever during the entire show, and the latter was so much better when I first caught them 12 years ago
seeing a show put on by experimental techno label Diagonal this Saturday, Rob Brown from Autechre is DJing during the gig, also seeing ae themselves in Feb next year, hyped
The previous album he put out on Orange Milk — GEMINI — might be the most affecting, complex electronic album of the 2010s… Matt hasn’t even come within spitting distance in these post UGLY ART days.
Sad!
Saw Korn live, got some pussey
Saw Karnivool in Cologne back in June with my parents and brother. Was their first concert and it was really fucking rad.
Yeah, all the artists I like are dead :(
Went to about fiftiy so far this year. Still got Greep and some other shows coming. Best one I saw was Mj Lenderman, worst one was Interpol.
Saw Slowdive at the beginning of the year and from all their gigs I've been to since the reunion it was the least enjoyable. The new songs were good but they seemed to be going through the motions on all the older material. Plus, there were tons of zoomers in the audience. One guy was obnoxiously waving his Just For a Day vinyl at the band after ever fucking song hoping to get it signed. They gave him zero attention lmao.
My favorite Slowdive gig was at a small club a month before the s/t album came out. Absolute magic.
Plus, there were tons of zoomers in the audience.
what the fuck is your problem guy?
Completely agree 100%, saw them in 2018, great. This year though, fucking zoomers man, to see everyone in the audience take out their phones and start filming toks or whatever they call them when they started playing When The Sun Hits, fucking hell
to see everyone in the audience take out their phones and start filming toks
Ok that's fucking gay, but not only zoomers do this...
saw quasi twice, feeble little horse, springsteen twice, HANL, among other things. Worked a Chappell Roan show in April right before she really exploded in popularity. Still have at least Ride in december. Worst show i saw was probably Khruangin. They went on stage at like 10pm after an obnoxiously loud dj set. Biggest regret of the year was skipping out on the wednesday/hotline tnt tour and not blowing money on going solo to Hopscotch fest
Merch is a scam.
Saw creed and 3 Doors Down, that was intense but fun. I've never been to a sold out show at that venue before. Saw Bush and Jerry Cantrell with Candlebox, which was a really fun night, Bush is way better headlining rather than opening for Breaking Benjamin. Caught 38 Special when they came to town which was kind of sad, and of course a sampling of local bands that ranged in quality.
Id like to check them out next time their in town
Id like to check them out next time their in town
They played very well but depending on the venue and sound guy - take some ear plugs if you can.

This sounds cool. Are they still only playing their 80s thrash stuff?
