It's the kind of thing that's cringe at first, because christian music is inherently cringe, but then you put it into context with the whole song/album concept and it becomes less cringe. You learn to meet Mangum wherever he was in life at that moment, and accept that goofy lyric for its sincerity.

idk. Bitches Brew, The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, Bocanada.
It's very consistent. Every song on it is great. I don't know any other album that's this good at it. I also love how the structure of the albums is utilized to create fantastic pacing, and how well the album flows, with each song transitioning into another seamlessly. How it creates breathing room after songs that go hard. And how right after the culminating point it hits you the most emotional song I've ever heard, that consistently makes me cry. But the album covers quite an emotional range, from catchy and happy to somber to tear-jerking. From slower and more contemplative to faster and more bombastic. And I love the moments where it contrasts upbeat instrumentals with somber songwriting. And the song writing is perfect. It's quite abstract on the surface, but it crafts a cohesive emotional narrative. One that can be studied long after you're done listening to it. I also love Mangum's voice. The performances are great in general. It utilizes a variety of different sounds that somehow cohesively come together. I could go into why I love each song on it, but those are just some of my general thoughts about the whole album.
