Neil Young used AI art on his latest cover?
how could he abandon us like this, fellow harris voters?
neil young
is actually an old man who uses AI and ruins the environment
wtf
AI MAN, BETTER
KEEP YOUR HEAD
HAHAHAHA as if his handlers dont decide everything for his boomer ass
It is AI. The left-side window in front is bigger than the right side.
you guys hear Neil Young used AI art on his latest cover?
ai paranoia is very funny to me
Why do boomer artists keep doing this?
same. annoying tho that fear taints everything it touches, ive got a couple ai assisted music vids on the burner that are actually p sick and quality but i know the comment sections are gonna be filled w the normie sheep slogans
soon everyone will be doing it, boomer artists doing it is just the most newsworthy version of the story so u hear that more. strokes guy did it recently too, cool cover too
it’s both dystopian as a fan of art and humanity that robots are taking over art but also funny as someone that hates artfags that they seethe and look insane pretending ai isn’t at least somewhat impressive. When machines and immigrants took jobs it was lmao but now it’s all about the quality and passion behind their work
weird move for a guy who hates digital music players
damn
Neil is gonna have a spicy ai take for us p soon after this
if you loved his Joe Rogan era, then buckle up bitch
next thing you know, CSNY will be replaced with Chat GP&T!
better now
The voidz cover didn't look AI really. This is painfully obvious.
well yea im not going to bat for the neil cover which was done with tech from 2 years ago and is pretty generic. but the larger point remains
kek this guy suuuuucks
on the contrary, he's winning me back with this one
although if this goes wide enough i bet he'd puss out and apologize for it on his blog
It's not impressive. I'm not going to wax apocalyptic about AI being this evil unethical thing, but functionally it's just a lame novelty. It just consooms information and recycles it into a slightly altered version of stuff that already exists. Yes all creativity "remixes" its influences, but there's no creativity in this stuff. It's not "art", it's a glorified instagram filter. As long as there are NPCs and lazy shitheads and overworked Indian programmers then AI will always be their easy solution to everything, but I suspect most people will get bored with it like a child gets bored with a new toy.
Congrats on parroting the groupthink buzzword of the week. You’ve memorized the script—“soulless,” “slop,” “derivative”—without stopping to ask yourself why you’re so eager to join the chorus. What you’re actually saying is: “This looks too polished, too good, too beyond what I'm capable of as a human—so my brain short-circuited and I took the easy way out. I called it slop, because I’m not yet in a place mentally where I can give AI a win.”
This isn’t critique. It’s emotional deflection dressed up as taste. Maybe what’s really eating at you isn’t the content itself, but the creeping realization that a machine spat out in 60 seconds something more imaginative, more technically competent, and more culturally attuned than anything you could produce sweating over a blank canvas for months. And that stings, doesn’t it?
So you lash out—not at the work, but at the idea of it. You join a swelling crowd of zombie cynics, broadcasting your own fear, insecurity, and lack of imagination like it's a virtue. You repeat the phrases you’ve been handed, thinking it makes you sound insightful, when really it just confirms your discomfort with a shifting creative landscape you no longer understand.
And all of this—over a silly little meme. A joke. A visual gag. Something that exists for five seconds before being scrolled past. And yet here you are, arms folded, scowling with performative moral superiority, like the internet’s last line of defense against Skynet. Spare me.
You’re not fighting for art. You’re fighting for your ego. And you're losing.
Tears for Fears didn't apologize. They had the same "uhhh akshually it wasn't *fully* AI" excuse that is never true, but they just waited out the scandal and everyone forgot about it pretty quickly. Honestly while I disapprove of AI I have to respect them a bit for not immediately cucking.
youtube.com
This South Park scene ruined an entire generation of discussion on border patrol.
normie sheep
Bro it's the normie sheep who gawk at this shit like babies to a keychain
If that were true, anon would hate going to art museums or listening to music since it's "something more imaginative, more technically competent, and more culturally attuned than anything you could produce".
AI art is just soulless because a human didn't make it.
Art truly has meaning when someone worked hard on it, took time and poured their emotions into it. It's the same reason why popslop sounds soulless, the artist was handed a script they didn't make to sing along to a beat they didn't make. They believe in none of what they're saying.
A.I. should be used as a force multiplier of human creativity. Not a replacement for it. To do otherwise is just empty copying.
trvke
It also accurately portrayed it!
no, you
now it’s all about the quality and passion behind their work
Artfags are losing the battle because they refuse to use this as their anthem. They keep critiquing the art itself and not what was behind the art.
If they could simply admit the art looks good, but it's just meaningless, then they'd start getting somewhere.
Why do people hate Neil Young? Got into him recently with Harvest, Zuma, Rust Never Sleeps and On The Beach, he's fantastic
He’s a brilliant artist and he’s politically progressive. Chuds hate it!
he's grumpy and has turned into neil old
but i think people forget that in order to do what he did in the 70s, you have to be a weird eccentric asshole who's probably wrong most of the time
What I left out of my OP is that AI stuff, be it images or videos or text, is extremely favored by social media content farmers, which makes perfect sense. If the point of this stuff were truly to inspire and assist "normal" people in creating their own art, then you think we'd be seeing a lot more of that instead of the current hellscape of low effort slop shitting up the normieverse from tiktok to facebook and in between for the clicks and ad revenue. For most people it's either an instant meme creator, a tool that does your homework, or a scheme to hustle on the internet.
he was an absolute faggot about covid, had a sperg meltdown and removed all his music from spotify unless they took down joe rogan because of muh misinformation threat, which did nothing but inconvenience his fans for a few months and bring more attention to the show he was protesting. he later folded, admitting he hadn't even bothered to listen to one second of rogan's content. he just heard it was scary
i don't mind that he used AI, but did he really have to use DALLE-3 when there are way better models out there?
You dont hate them enough.
using AI to make silly photos to share with friends is fine
using it for album artwork when you're filthy rich is just giving ammo to the people complaining that it's taking jobs away from actual artists
i don't hate ai
i just hate bad ai art, like nobody actually cares enough to make good ai
honestly this.
you can tell neil came up with this slop from his phone.
I doubt he did it himself. Probably hired someone to make him a cover and they used AI, showed it to Neil and he approved it without knowing it was AI.
Now we know which 10 of the most upvoted comments on that thread will be without even looking at it
na neil's lib fanbase cant even summon the will of mind to form jokes when it comes to ai they just go straight to raging/weeping
I don't care.
i don't care who or what makes the album covers as long as i like it
Neil is secretly a chud
