Bonkers Annual? Hell yeah I did
Actually, it did work. But people behind the scenes thought it worked too well at "alienating the other side" that the people working as the mouthpieces were told to stop.

I just don't get why you can't stream music AND listen to CDs. Why does it even matter? I have a lot of CDs of stuff that just doesn't exist online any more and also not ALL music is made by giant billboard top 40 artist that have everything on streaming, I see a lot of live music and I buy cds a lot from the bands / singers performing.
Some day luddites will have to admit redbook audio and optical CDs was a nearly perfect consumer audio format. Small portable, durable, mathematically provable to preserve all the audio frequencies in the human hearing range with lowest distortion. The only thing it lacked was some method of including text data about the audio like ID3 tags. This was a major oversight.
People who want to get a lottery ticket to a hand shake event of their favorite idol?
a majority of people no longer have CD players , they were removed from computers and cars so now you must buy one for home audio which requires an extra step, but why bother since you have streaming on your phone ?
I was gonna say "me", but I realised I haven't bought a CD in almost 5 years.
It's a nice way of supporting the artist, plus CDs are the best physical format, better than vinyl.
Because not everything is on streaming and also there's situations where you might be remote and not have access to the internet.
none of it (hence why it's the 3rd category), it's just that they don't really stream music so they're more likely to buy CDs, might be true also for early genXers
listens to music that's not on streaming
goes regularly in the wild where there's no internet

new albums
I'm not buying a new album AT ALL. Only old Albums will be added to my CD collection.
You can download your music, you know. Even Spotify allows you to.
huge playlist/library of music
just download it onto your phone bro!
Yeah, no. Dedicated MP3 Player/CD stash or GTFO
I do when they are on sale. I mostly buy secondhand, however $1.00 or $2.00 each.
this is cope that has never been true
I would 100% buy them if there was any good music being released today (there isn’t). I still buy old used CDs all the time though. The reason is very simple and straightforward:
Streaming services usually only offer brickwalled, 2000s-era “Loudness Wars” remasters of most albums. They don’t let you choose which release you want to hear. You’re pretty much stuck with trash whether you want it or not. I buy CD copies of any album I like enough on Discogs so that I can pick which specific release of an album I want (avoiding the Loudness Wars remasters), rip it myself to lossless, and add it to my digital library. I don’t even listen to the CDs themselves. I just rip them and back them up. If you’re patient, you can make a lot of money reselling CDs after you’ve ripped them.
your point? I never said I wasn't a weirdo
all these cd buying retards
kek
Why do you care what other people do?

This meme is from 10 years ago.
I was definitely listening to Night Visions then but in the whole image the thing that really brings back nostalgia is that season 1 Lloyd figure

I would 100% buy them if there was any good music being released today (there isn’t).
Enough to not warrant replacing my precious photos with FLAC files
