psychedelic rock/soul jazz thing, stream-of-consciousness non sense

drop ya wips im tryna hear some quality shit team

They didn't have any of the moog stuff in store and they gave me a discount on it. If I want the moog the guy said he will order it for me. I kind of like the mpc 37. I've never had a workstation before, the only problem i have so far is the fact I suck at drums so finger drumming is hard. I'll either get good at making drum patterns on there or I'll just get a separate drum machine. I kinda prefer not using it for drums. I can do pretty much everything but drums on it, which makes beats a lot easier.

is the new Skrillex good production did I like it? Is it dubstep or brostep?

you have to understand one thing: the moog if you can get it discounted is a timeless and versatile piece of equipment, the MPC controller is a gimped DAW in a box. You are better off with a computer DAW with VSTs and the analog moog any day.

If I could just throw money at equipment I would go for something a DAW can't do

something a DAW can't do

Such as?

that's not analog like at all there is no W A R M T H

Anal OG warmth

Why is this such a constant pleasure point for hardware fags?

mentally justify your purchase

feel superior to others

-through a claim that’s “unfalsifiable” through obfuscation over what “warmth” even means or is realistically distinguishable from any digitable counterpart

it's basically what separates the professionals from the hordes of dipshit amateurs. look at old interviews like the soundonsound article for shakira hips don't lie, they had a sophisticated understanding of it decades ago and you still don't get it.

disableton fags are trying to copy deadmau5 and skrillex when it's to late for that, even if you're as good as them the audience has upgraded their audio and moved on

Everything from the Little Phatty onwards has been absolute dogshit in terms of build quality and "timelessness"

Let this be a warning to others, do not spend money on Moog synths but the pedals are great (Moogerfoogers)

I'm completely new to all this, but I found an artist I like that uses OpenMPT so I figured I'd download it and try it out. I followed the tutorial as to actually using the software and feel like I have the basics down. Does anyone have good resources for learning how to actually make songs besides just "listen critically to songs around you"?

Starting with a tracker, especially OpenMPT is going to be a bit rough.
You can go to modarchive.org and download mod files to see how they were made/play around and remix them/borrow samples to use in your own tracks/etc.

Can you explain a bit why? It's really intuitive for me thus far lol. Thx for the mod archive suggestion, I've looked a bit on it before
