Overall and considering it in a pound-to-pound manner, is it the greatest album of the 2000s?

Overall and considering it in a pound-to-pound manner, is it the greatest album of the 2000s?

For the one millionth time, no. Not even top 10. It's good though.

Based as fuck

Fun fact: The Eminem Show outsold The Marshall Mathers LP for the top selling album 2000-2009.

pounding gerard way pound for pound, pound by pound

AHEM

they're both good
I don't think of pre-Relapse Eminem in terms of individual albums

Not even their best album

I can’t get Helena out of my head, and never have been able to since I first heard it.

it's one of the best songs ever written, and it's the first fucking track

cringe

No one asked about you, anon

TTTYG or IOH? Any other answer is wrong

absolutely not. You Forgot It In People, Kid A, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Stankonia, Merriweather Post Pavilion, For Emma, Forever Ago, Blood Mountain, Songs for the Deaf, Late Registration, The Glow Pt. 2, Illinois, Dopethrone, Third, Give Up, The Woods, The Sunset Tree, Person Pitch, Things We Lost in the Fire, Labor Days, Lift Yr Skinny Fists and Hell Hath No Fury are only scratching the surface of better 2000s albums.

MCR is one thing but do we really have to pretend Fall Out Boy isn't total trash now

No, Black Parade is

They also gave late-career U2 and Bruce Springsteen 5 star reviews. Rolling Stone is not a credible source.

TTTYG all the way. I like Cork Tree but TTTYG mogs.

All of these suck except for Give Up

No of course not at all. Is This It is the most infueltal album since Siamese Dream.

I fully understand the love of my chemical romance after I spent 4 years in the army. It's the emo of the masses. And that particular album is their masterpiece. But it pales in comparison to Is This It.

anon i'm begging you from the bottom of my heart to please try exploring slightly less immediately palatable music

i promise it's worth it to be able to enjoy albums as entry-level as Songs for the Deaf and For Emma, Forever Ago

No

okay.

i hope you reconsider some day and experience the joys that come with putting in the effort to understand even slightly more challenging music but it's your life and i wish you well

I was fucking around, anon, and not expecting anything sincere since this thread has already been mostly a train wreck but I do like a handful of those. Forgive the trolling.

Is This It

No, it's not it.

sheeeit I thought you meant the Michael Jackson album I was like word?

I loved Infinity On High as a tween but when I got older I found it cringe, same with The Black Parade.

we didn't listen to or even hear of any of this
I already know Radiohead and Animal Collective is trash

Saturday, Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner, Dance Dance

you're a contrarian if you call Fall Out Boy "total trash"

slightly less immediately palatable music

if it doesn't sound good, why bother?

sterile production

no thanks! your kind needs to die out

TTTYG is a 10/10 album and Cork Tree is a damn good follow up. Quit kidding yourself.

might i humbly suggest that an interest board about music may not be the best place for you if you aren't willing to listen to music you haven't heard before

I listen to music I haven't heard before here quite often when a link is posted, it's just that usually Anon Babble posts hipster trash that isn't meant to be enjoyed by anyone but pseuds

the shittiest, overrated trash, yes.
barely qualifies as music.

If you were an edgy teenager when it came out, maybe.

Probably.

bump

"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE
