hearing the original really makes this one sound entirely soulless
God I hate women
I'll be a contrarian and say Hurt. I like the Nine Inch Nails version better.
I'll also mention Midge Ure's cover of The Man Who Sold the world is better than Nirvana's
But what about the Lulu original?
ALL covers sang by women (when the original was a man) are inferior. Unless the woman is biologically a male like Sade or someone like that.
you are retarded and homosexual
we get it you like penis
Sade is not a troon like you anon
could post counter example to shut me forever
they dont, and just seethe
because im on the right.

Distinctions Not Cost-Effective [1980s]: With her big, anonymous voice and inoffensive Irish-American girl looks, she went gold in 1982. But dancepop is fickle and Laura's none too talented. So she "retired" to Vegas and, unusual for a star of such magnitude, staged a comeback. Guess she liked the crowds.
Yes that would be a prime example.
I dunno if that's always true or not because the Eddy Arnold original of "I Really Don't Want To Know" isn't as good as most of the covers both male and female. There are other examples as well.
Ok, trannylover.
Sade has penis lole
Led Zeppelin's cover of "Killing Floor" by Howlin' Wolf
Branigan was 30 when she broke in 1982 with her top 10 hit "Gloria" but in order to make her seem younger Atlantic gave a date of birth of 1957, allowing them to claim she was five years younger than her true age. This was generally accepted as fact for the rest of her life. In June 2001, Branigan fell off a ladder and sustained a concussion while hanging flower pots outside her upstate New York home. She apparently recovered from the incident but passed away in her sleep on August 26, 2004. Branigan had been complaining of migraine headaches for about two weeks but did not seek medical attention.
After her death, a Swedish fan did some digging into her background and found that she had graduated high school in 1970 and was therefore 52 years old when she died rather than the 47 that had been claimed.[90]
I think this one is fine
This is not contrarianism, it's just good taste. NIN's original is better. Take this beautiful track, which actually does sound like being at the rock bottom of a downward spiral (clever), remove all the ethereal and otherwordly textures, as well as all the angst and edge, and just water it down to a basic four chord pop song with a bland acoustic guitar and a droning piano. But hey, it's sung by a celebrity, the only country singer redditors are allowed to like, so normies will love it.
If you prefer the Cash version, you are a boring and basic person. Case closed.
inb4 "b-but Reznor heckin' prefers le cover too" copers.
Most Zeppelin songs are covers.
only likes men and trannies
ok lol
Gender-swapping covers almost never work though, regardless of which sex sang the original. A rare exception is Kings Of Leon's cover of Dancing On My Own by Robyn.
What's your point faggot
Nirvana - Man Who Sold The World (MTV Unplugged)
Damn didn't know that was a cover

now always true. Patti Page made this a mega hit while the original was relatively unknown outside country circles.
A Steve Hoffman poster has entered the comment section. Abandon ship!
Ai no corrida by Quincy Jones sucks compared to the original
scroll further down and someone says the obvious

Here's another '50s gem. This was covered by Ella Mae Morse and Bill Haley & The Comets. Ella's version is meh for the reasons already mentioned that it doesn't work when sung by a woman.
lol it's about sitting up late at night waiting for your unfaithful tramp skank old lady to come back from cruising the local bars and screwing every dude she meets XD
how about this

Not the original at all, but I always found Deep Purples cover of Hey Joe absolutely mogs Jimi Hendrix.

I can't even fathom how much I'd fucking seethe if I made a banger song, and then some random girl covered it barely changing anything about the song itself or the singing, and then THAT cover became an insane hit
Hope RAF gets a shitton of royalties
you have to give permission to anyone covering your song for an official release
T. Historically illiterate when it comes to music
Lmao wait till you find about twist and shout
Kate Bush Sexual Healing.
