Good. Metal must remain underground

evendoe sleep token is saving metal

I went to a Machine Head show last year and there was only like 25 people there

And thats a great thing.
Metalfags are akin to trannies

long hair

smell bad

think their way is the only way

metal is the most incomprehensibly fetishized and popular slipknot plays arenas

need another album like The Black Album or Vulgar Display of Power to help lift the rising tide again

not metal
not music

This whole R&B with Djent production thing that's being pushed right now is so fucking cringe.

fpbp

sometimes i fantasize its the 80s and metal rules the world and also i have a hot metal gf

i wish it were the 80s
i wish we could be happy

The best thing about metal is that it wasn’t R&B

its for the better, if metal were to reach the mainstream in this day and age it would first have to compromise what makes it special to begin with

I wish, I wish, I wish that something would happen

80s and metal rules the world

it was basically underground at the time, the exceptions were early 90s (Metallica) and nu metal (98-03)

its nerd music now. I can't take it seriously

Somehow hipsters turned the manliest music into skinny, balding, pale, white people music. Dire.

nigger hair metal was like the zeitgeist, thrash metal only came as a reaction

all those guys are more metal than you

thrash metal only came as a reaction

also, what? glam metal became mainstream in 83 (Quiet Riot)

skid row, motley crue, def leappeard, guns and roses, etc

you are an idiot if you think metal in the 80s was just bon jovi

christ, the level of discourse here is at absolute rock bottom now

I saw meshuggah the other night on 5 grams of mushrooms. Had a great time. Its not that deep. I agree everything has gone in a very pussy direction though

Knocked Loose was on Jimmy Kimmel, so it's not like it's gone completely underground. Plus some of the more poppy mental bands are stadium-status-esque. And of course a band like Metallica still sells out arenas, but they're more of a legacy act. But my favorite types of metal, like death metal or black metal, were never very popular in the first place. A band like Cannibal Corpse, which is as mainstream as death metal gets, only sells a couple thousand tickets per show. So it's not like I really care that much, because if I did, I wouldn't listen to this kind of music in the first place.

anymore

digits don't lie. OP is a gaf

those bands only called themselves metal to sound edgy.

I woke up one day and realized Midwestern Emo just died. Pretty sad desu.

BMTH is the only good artist on here. Sleep Token has 2 good songs and that's it.

knocked loose isn't metal, it's hardcore

Metal was never supposed to be popular. It’s for the best, the scene is creative and thriving at the moment and there are less normies going to shows

Every mainstream metal band and genre was just pop music but with distorted guitars.
Embrace the underground.
