That's going to download the entire stream until they kill it. For specific times you need to pass --download-sections with a timestamp, see github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues/8092#issuecomment-1716929241 for syntax.

afaik it just tries to download the entire thing. Once you see it "caught up", i.e. frag 50000/50000, you can end it early with ctrl+C to stop

Use the release/nighly yt-dlp build once you're done with Coachella. That fork is specifically made for --live-from-start and --download-sections to work together as the release version gives an error.

Maybe it’s because I have nostalgia from actually attending in person from 2007-2011 but I’ve defended the overall quality of the Coachella lineup, and based on the livestream, overall experience for years. This year really was just awful. The amount of respectable acts has dwindled down to a handful, and they’re performing for audiences that just don’t give a fuck. Every act, even djs like Basement Jaxx , tries to put on some faggy stage show like they’re fucking lady Gaga. If I wasn’t for Anon Babblechela I wouldn’t have watched a single minute. Post-Covid Coachella hasn’t been a Golden Age but the drop off this year was huge, worst Coachella ever. And I don’t see much hope for the future.

No technically Green Day were the headliners. Travis Scott was the special guest that went on last for an abbreviated set. Coachella does that from time to time- one of the best sets I’ve ever seen in person was Chemical Brothers closing the main stage at Coachella ‘11- after the headliners, Kings of Leon.
