bent steel is cool

shitty thread shitty op learn2bake

I FUCKING HATE ALLLLL THE ULTRAS
WORST EDITIONS OUT OF ALL FENDERS LINE

what's wrong with them?

links are for faggots like (you)

Based thread. OP read my mind. I just bought an Ultra.

If you want Quartersawn from Fender, it's the cheapest option. And Haymakers are their best HBs so far.

Why do Telecasters even exist anymore? Strats have single coil pickups and have long surpassed it.

This is the first Epiphone I’ve had since a very shitty LP Jr I got back in 2006 and later smashed out of frustration. This isn’t quite as shitty but it’s pretty bad. I went to remove the trem arm and shorten it to the middle hole on the bar and the bolt holding it in place sheered right off… friggin chinesium, bring on the tariffs Trump. Seriously, the components make my Squiers seem top notch in comparison, especially the CV and Paranormal guitars. What this lacks in quality components and general QC it makes up for in tone, if it would stay in tune the mini humbuckers sounds pretty nice. I’m willing to bet some of my dislike can be chalked up to playing exclusively Fenders and decent Squiers so much so that other guitars feel pretty foreign and alien in comparison. I’ll get used to it and have a replacement bolt for the Tremotone on the way already. This will be a decent guitar for playing Stooges and other rhythm heavy music. I do really like the look of it.

The Tele bridge is completely different and tuning is less of a pain in the ass.
Lot of theories on why it's different, but it is.

have long surpassed it

Play me a Tele middle position sound on a regular Strat. You can't.
Two very different guitars with two completely different feels and sounds.

Duo Sonics are the Tele replacement, not Strats.

Duo-Sonic is smaller.

they look fucking cool

Why do classical guitars exist anymore? Martins have steel strings and have long surpassed it.

duo sonic and tails is just another musty

shit, they are. I guess we don't have any 25.5 two pickup hardtails to replace the tele with then. (Lead doesn't count its fucking dead)

In a way, it's kind of meant to be the "Tele" of the 3/4's guitars. It's an upgraded version of the Musicmaster, which is the student version. Kind of like the Tele is the upgraded Esquire, a 4/4 student type of guitar.
The Jaguar is kind of the 3/4 equivalent of the JM, I guess.
Not sure what the 3/4 version of the Strat is.

FUCK THE TERRIBLE NOISELESS PICKUPS
FUCK THE GAY ASS HEEL NECK POCKET SWOOP
FUCK THE QUADRUPLE PRICE INCREASE ON THEM WHEN THEY OFFER NOTHING BETTER OR NEW THAN OTHER AMERICAN MODELS
You tell me whats better about them than a cheaper model?

What do we think of the Epiphone version of the Widow aesthetic? Most people will go for the Indigo one but I'm a sucker for red guitars. I love my Gibson studio but I want something to put high-output pickups in.

What kinda chair do you play in?

Hurr I play standing up

No you don't

either a computer chair with arms (it's a pain) or a swiveling drum throne. or my bed or on the floor. or standing up.

i mostly play live with bands or in jams so im used to standing. standing is usually what im doing

couch

on the floor like a monk or standing up
rarely a drum throne

racing chair with right arm rest removed

You tell me whats better about them than a cheaper model?

I don't know much about em, that's why I was asking. Sounds like they're overpriced fuckers though.

Yeah everyone was like "Fender, when are you going to stop making your vintage series and make more modern guitars like the ones people on YouTube and tiktok use"
That was their response. They embossed the Fender logo on the headstock. Put a heel swoop. Noiseless pickups, they have 0 bite. Ive had them they sound flat, an overdrive doesn't help. They gave them to every tuber for free they could to trick people to buy one during the pandemic

Yes I can, my strat is wired so I can have bridge and neck together

...how? I hope you didn't put one of those gay 10-way blades on it.

Can you sing, /gg/?

Push pull pot on one of the tone knobs that adds the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2

Actually I don't give a single shit.

based, should be commonplace strat wiring.

that's a really nice chord progression, wish i had a voice like that.

I believe it’s standard on American Professional 2s

too poor for ampro, they gotta put it on MIMs

strat heads look 100x better than tele heads

MIM blacktop Jazzmaster for sale locally for $400

I don’t need it but that’s a good price and it’s tempting

Tele heads were designed to look like a foot cuz Leo was a footfag

Picks or it isnt real

*splooooge*

wait for it to soak into the fretboard

"alright, time to sell this Jazzmaster"

Do it nigga… I got a Noventa recently and am really happy with it and glad I went that route as opposed to standard JM config

a metal folding chair because i'm poor

No. But I practice in my car because I'm too insecure to do it in my apartment. What about (You)?

I had a standard one for a while but just didn’t click with it after a few years so I sold it, but then this thing being only $400 is super tempting

IMG_0638.png - 1170x2532, 2.12M

I've got a guitar and I'm pretty happy with it, practicing as much as I can and all that. I kind of want to pick up bass as well though as I think I can get further with it faster and do shit like jam/record covers while I learn guitar at the same time. Thoughts?

Thats not bad. Id be disappointed with that bridge pickup replacement because you'd need a whole new pickguard if you wanted to swap back to jazzmaster pickups. But 400 isnt bad. First thing id do is get the fret edges rolled and the neck/bridge adjusted unless youre a professional (but those cheap bridges are way too finicky for my taste) Id 100% replace the bridge with a mustang roller and the tailpiece tremolo with an american version

I mean you certainly could buy a bass and an amp, but if you just want the sound try one of these

penis

I'm learning. You should pratice more. It's really fun. I meanz what's the point of playing the guitar when you can't sing any of the songs you love?

Is this the same thing as a pitchfork or digitech drop?

Yeah there’s a lot of stuff I’d want to tweak, I’ve spent some time playing with a Blacktop before and I didn’t really like the pickup config, that one was HH and this one here is HS but still. When I had a JM I had a bridge and vibrato from Mastery on it and I replaced the pickups with Duncan Antiquities but even with all that it just didn’t click. This guitar would probably just fall into the “it was cheap for a decent guitar” category which would then just kinda sit there and rarely get played and eventually sold off so I doubt I’d get it but when I saw MIM for only $400 I got tempted. It’s always tempting seeing things for sell for less than normal even if you don’t really even want them ya know?

By the way I do it at my apartment. I just don’t give a fuck anymore. I wanna be happy Christ.

I have one.

more or less, but improved tracking and it has a setting to only play the lowest note of a chord. So if you play rhythm you have a free bass backing.

Yeah i bought a gibson melody maker for like 400 bucks. I think its a 2005ish. Personally i would have preferred if it was designed like the originals with 2 single coils but this version is just a single p90. My only p90 guitar and its super thin, sounds great to be honest. My only complaint is it was designed with a thin paint job so it would wear easier on purpose

Cheap guitars that are actually good are cool because they’re cheap and actually good but they’re also not cool because they make you want to buy what you don’t need and that’s money that could go toward something nicer that you already actually have your eye on

If i hear fuzz in my headphones whenever I don't hold down my bass strings, that means I need a DI box?

Your guitar prolly needs a better shielding, better ground wires
That said I've never had a completely quiet guitar

sing what?

Consider getting a rolling saddle bridge.

Doesn't look like it's anything to write home about.

its really good, it has a guitar in the OP and is straight forward.
For a while we couldn't even get a guitar in the OP

strings ground to you, buzzing gets quieter on both single coil and humbucker guitars when you touch the string. if it's EXTREME your output jack is probably not grounded properly
also computer monitors and computers introduce a lot of noise to guitar pickups, another fat L for beta amp sim users

I think i have a humbucker then? Cause I don't hear any buzz when I play only when I'm not touching the strings.

There's something wrong with my right hand and it's getting hard to make a fist, not hard but almost like the tendons in my hand are suddenly too short or something and my fingers are resisting curling :(

shouldn't have taken that vax

you sing like toki wartooth

Quit jackin off so much you coomer

I didn't
I haven't jacked off in 2 weeks

well then do ice massages dingus.
the tendons for your fingers are in your forearm.

thinking about downsizing my guitars

i like them all but I really only play half of them

could sell the ones i dont play as often and put them towards one single high end guitar or maybe some kind of custom build for my exact preferences

but then I’d be selling off guitars that i still like

first world problems

you've given yourself an RSI, stop playing until you figure out what you're doing wrong with your wrist

I got a massive infection from getting bit by my cat and waited until my hand had swollen to twice its size before going to hospital, it took 6 months before I could ball my hand up into a fist again and at least a year until i could play simple chords again, you're gonna make it.

Good idea, that and a better nut will likely go a long way. My first impression wasn’t very good but after playing it for a couple hours it’s growing on me.
