Going back to the drinking topic, am I the only one who, after getting blackout on booze (beer) for 3-4 days consecutively then not drinking for about 2 gets really fucking vivid and real feeling nightmares? I rewatched Melancholia and in my dream I was standing in my grandparent's kitchen (and there was no roof) with my mom and I saw another planet slowly crashing into Earth, I saw some bullshit physics like the gases getting "exchanged between the planets" like in the movie. It was absolutely fucking terrifying, I saw that huge fucking planet slowly getting closer and kept thinking about how it will feel to die like this and kept wishing that it will go fast and painless. And this wasn't even the one that fucked me up.
Anyway, I love this song. And album. Wish I wasn't a shitter on guitar but I just drink and not practice.

Have you checked out The Ruins of Beverast? They aren't necessarily as depressive as LoC, but that's the only other atmoblack band I can think of that incorporates funeral doom in an a non-gay way into atmoblack

You'll need a few things
1. Thicker strings. Picrel is my personal pick for tuning to C. You could go thicker or lighter if you want. Some guys use 56 - 12 sets for C (Including Pike himself) But I find the bottom C too floppy with a 56. Some guys go thicker but I find if the string is too thick it becomes too stiff and sounds bad. 62 - 12 works the best for me but your mileage may vary
2. Adjust the saddles on your bridge for intonation. If the pitch of the note at the 12th fret reads flat compared to the open note then the saddle is set too far back and you'll need to set it forward. If the pitch of the note reads sharp than the saddle is too far forward or too close to the nut and you will need to set it farther back. You will know when your intonation is set correctly when the pitch of the 12th fret matches the pitch of the open string. You can adjust the height of your action from there.
3. Truss rod adjustment. This one is a little more in depth an I just don't feel like typing it out so just take a look at these.

Follow all these steps and your guitar will be set up for lower tuning. If you want to tune your guitar even lower than these steps will remain pretty much the same. If you want to tune SUPER low like G or F you'll need 80 - 95 gauge strings. For this you'll need to file down the nut slots on the nut to accommodate the super thick string. And depending on what kind of guitar you have you might also need to bore out the tuning peg for the 6th string. In my experience, most 6 string guitars can go up to 80 gauge before needing to be bored out.
But yeah, you can set up a guitar to play pretty much any tuning. Which is why I don't play 7 strings anymore when you can still tune low on 6 strings.
