Really nice timbres and little melodies. Definitely similar to SoTL. A little too minimalist for my taste. It feels like there isn't enough texture for me to keep finding new aspects to for such long durations.

What's the difference between downtempo, ambient, field recordings and post-rock
Field recordings can be considered ambient, it depends on how they're used. Generally, ambient is understood not to have a beat. So post-rock can have ambient elements, but if it has a beat then it's not really ambient. Same goes for downtempo.

Great feedback, it was a live recording and my palette was quite limited at the time, I'll definitely try with more texture in the future. I'm more melody/harmony oriented and I often forget to add noise/textures. Thanks anon.

To me, ambient is music with no beat, often made with electronic instruments and made to be relaxing or hypnotic.
Field recordings are tracks made with a mash of, well, field recordings (cities, nature, etc.), it's more about soundscapes than music.
Downtempo is music in the vein of trip-hop, albeit less dark. This one has a beat unlike ambient, but it's also usually relaxing or chill. Stuff like early Four Tet.
And Post-Rock is music made with usual rock instruments but meant to stray away from the standard rock songs, focusing more on ambiences with guitar effect pedals and more spaced out beats.

Track 2 reminds of opening track on Hiroshi Yoshimura - Wet Land with some additional sounds that are maybe excessive, for me. It is possibly worth noting that this seems to predate Wet Land. I enjoyed the choir singing. Not my favorite by either J. Hassell or H. Budd.

Possibly broadest category. I disagree with the idea that there is no beat. Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works or Brian Eno's Music for Film, for example, have many variations in rhythm while maintaining some quality of ambience. There's even a beat, albeit slower, in the Basinski track linked above estimated around 71bpm by tunebat and songbpm.
