There are plenty of classic albums made by people in their 20s and 30s, but there is a serious lack of classic albums made by people in their 40s or older. Seriously, try to name a great album made by 40+ year olds.

CASSIC albums or GREAT albums? Different things

I don't think there are any classic albums made by 40+ year olds so great will have to suffice

I'm sure some country guys were over 40 when they made some good shit
The only genre that doesn't hate you for aging

The album and its consequences have been a disaster for the music race.

idk about classic but Megadeth's Endgame was surprisingly good. I'd flat out given up on them after Cryptic Writings

Iron Maiden's Brave New World
Scorpions's Humanity
Black Sabbath's 13

There's plenty of great albums made by metal ultraboomers

Ah, Miles fucking Davis

Every Oh Sees album made after 2015.

Crimson released THRAK when Fripp was in his late 40's
Sting released Soul Cages and Ten Summoners Tales in his early 40's
Grateful Dead were all in their mid-late 40's when they had their biggest chart success with Touch of Grey from In The Dark
Paul Simon was 45 when he did Graceland
When Genesis released We Can't Dance all 3 were early 40's
Tom Petty was 44 when Wildflowers was released
Paul McCartney released a bunch of stuff after 40, with several of his biggest solo hits coming in his early-mid 40's
U2 were all in their 40's when they released How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb

only young people care about music.

Classical composers (who made the only music that actually worth anything in the end) got better with age, usually peaking in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s.

I was just thinking about this a day or so ago and went through my top albums to see roughly how old the artists were when they recorded them.

(44 yo) William Basinski - Disintegration Loops
(51 yo) Vangelis - Blade Runner OST
(54 yo) The Sea and Cake - Any Day
(50 yo) Susumu Yokota - Sakura
(48 yo) Kow Itani - SotC OST
(53 yo) Hiroshi Yoshimura - Wet Land
(43 yo) Jon Hassell - Fourth World Music
(67 yo) David Lynch - The Big Dream
(60 yo) Harold Budd - Luxa
(41 yo) Kuniaki Haishima - Monster OST

Nick Cave and Blixa Bargeld also have released some tracks I enjoy in more recent years, but I'm not sure about entire albums.

Trying to demotivate people?

There too many examples in blues, jazz, country, singer-songwriter, folk.

Any of Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley albums

picrel by four 40+ yo

I had that thought too. Some people should get a real job. I also think actual self acceptance would be healthier for them than exogenous hormones

pink floyd?

Let's see
ZAZEN BOYS - Rando (Mukai was 53)
dip - HOLLOWGALLOW (Yamaji was 56)
ゆらゆら帝国 - Hollow me (shintaro was exactly 40)
ART-SCHOOL - In Colors (riki was exactly 40)

Damn, it's all men, but older women are looked down upon in Japan, it's hard for them to get any acclaim.

I enjoy some Ikue Asazake tracks from the Obokuri album. Seems like maybe most of the older women songs I enjoy are in the folk or traditional category, though as someone mentioned earlier Bjork made some albums after 40, though I don't think I've listened to those. I guess when a lot of younger generations of females get too old to sing math rock and such they can always wail on about the coal mines and textile factories and at least have one listener.

Also, i wanted to mention Eriko Hashimoto, but she was 38 when her last album released. For some reason i always thought she was older than Goto...

Meant to quote this

41% chance OP will not be coming back

Didn't Kayne West only get huge in the mainstream during his 40s?

And then there's Kayne's new stuff, I hope it becomes a memetic pandemic that wrecks family court kike judges so he gets his kids back.

Only the bassist was less than 50
