probably because its one of those things where you had to be there, and we weren't. he was on top the world and a titan of popular culture, but that was when i was a toddler. he has a dozen or so songs that have stood the test of time, and no great albums. combine that with him making a fool of himself for the past decade or more, the reception is bound to be lukewarm.

I'm going to sound like a gigantic fag for what I'm about to say but as someone who lurks the Eminem subreddit I've noticed he surprisingly has a lot of zoomer fans. His fans are probably 60% over 30, 30% 18-30, and 10% underaged. From what I've seen.

Either way his fans are fucking mental. I've seen them get tattoos of his face/name, eminem themed birthday parties, and fan art that looks like he was drawn by an 11 yr old child.

I can't help to think of him as a comedy act. He struck the same cultural nerve South Park did.

I find it incredible that he's been dogshit since 2002 and yet is still extremely commercially successful. I'm not an avid rap listener, so maybe I just "don't get it" - but I can listen to Eminem Show and SSLP fine but everything he's done since Relapse has been abysmal.
