The line drawing style to me really harkens back to the type of art you would find on “indie” works you would see in the 2000s during the era of pretentious hipster kitsch when the type of person who would have felt most targeted by basedjaks would have been at their creative peak. The whole situation felt like the hideous outcome of people who held this “raw vulnerable humanist” perspective on what good art should be infesting positions of political and cultural influence.
