Iron Maidens good lyrics needs to be known

why isn't Iron Maiden cellobreted more for their superb lyrics?
I was listening to alexander the great and I learnt so much, he was macedonian king and he thought in battles and he became great. lets have a thread we discuss their lyrics and what is best of them and make you happy?

yeah I agree. I listen to the 20 years. from the early 90s or so, and I think they r great. I watch them live 5 times, but I wish I watch them moore. I don't have money though. Have you watch Iron Maiden live?

I to is big fan. I am brazil so we dont have em here often. I listen two albums. big fan. I heard them first today. very good. I am from india.

come on you guys, I was actually cereal. I want to discuss Iron Maiden lyrics. I f you dont' have anythin to cointribute then don't jerk off with troll posts in my thread. go to biz and jerk off there. I am warning you. Don't jerk off in my thread

fear of the dark

i have a fear that something's drawing near

Anon they're fun silly lyrics with no substance
And that's OK, because it matches the music and its high intensity and fast pace

For me it's Revelations. Their best song, and their most esoteric lyricism

why did you draw a dick on the devil?

I don't get it.

with me you can bet
it is not much to get
what OPs post about
let us it sort out

first step is to read
which will get us a lead
next step is to think
find out how it all link

ahh, the Iron Maiden band
from the stupid british land
their lyrics are so trite
written like a usual job-rite

short words, simple lines
no depth, dumb rhymes
yet, they got many fans
whom watch em and dance

the bands high praise
among our mixed race
is it not worth pondering
OPs simply wondering
whats their ace?

Dickinson is a better lyricist overall than Harris, especially when he co-writes with Adrian Smith. Harris may have written most of their biggest, most well-known songs, but Bruce is much more evocative.

Alright, the 2025 tour is starting in less than 6 hours in Zagreb. Let's see the setlist predictions.

In no strict order, EXCEPT the opener and closing songs:

1. Be quick or be dead OR Ides of March + Murders in the Rue Morgue

2. Number of the Beast
3. Prowler
4. 2 minutes to midnight
5. From here to Eternity
6. Bring your Daughter to the Slaughter
7. Fear of the Dark (unfortunately again)
8. Run to the Hills
9. Phantom of the Opera
10. Powerslave (based on a hint from Dickinson from a recent interview)
11. Sanctuary
12. Running free
13. The trooper (unfortunately again)
14. Wasted years (unfortunately again)
15. Hallowed be thy Name
16. Iron Maiden

17. Die with your boots on

I don't think there will be any big surprises, but Killers, Children of the Damned, Clairvoyant/Can I play with Madness/Aces High (unfortunately)

Out of all that shit

The first 2 albums are the best albums

Also Strange World, Remember Tomorrow and Prodigal son is one of the best Lyricism in Metal, They have this bizarre nostalgtic feeling that is extremely authentic and creative

22 Acacia Avenue

Heaven can wait
Heaven can wait
Heaven can wait
Heaven can wait for another day

They've never been strong on lyrics, apart of a few decent ones here and there. The history songs and especially Alexander is super retarded. A 1:1 copy paste from a history book. Paschendale, written by Adrian is a bit better.

13. The trooper (unfortunately again)

14. Wasted years (unfortunately again)

these are the best maiden songs

They're good Maiden songs, but they are severely overplayed live. Trooper especially has to never ever be brought live again. Fear of the Dark and Run to the Hills too and Can I Play with Madness too.

They've been like this as long as I can remember. Unless it's a tour supporting a new album, their setlist is some combination of the same like 25-30 songs. No excuse for that when you have such a huge discography.

I'm going to Zagreb, are you there??

all right let's see your retelling of a historical figure in song form.

half their discography sucks, like any 80s band at this point

Fuck I meant Budapest lol

Alright, so far I got correct on

1, 2, 4, 9, 10, Clairvoyant, Killers

Didn't think they'll actually pull through with the Mariner and thought for sure Wrathchild is done for. Wrathchild should have definitely been something else from Killers or debut.

There once was a man from nantucket
Who sold his right leg for a bucket
He wanted to hunt a whale
A white one to impale
But all he got was a big dick, now suck it

Lmao I always thought he sang "something's always there".

good lyrics

Too much of that "Youtuber reading a Wikipedia article" feeling.

OP, please explain why u took the time to draw a penis on each and every album cover? I need to know.

and I learnt so much

what?

he was macedonian king and he thought in battles and he became great

you did attend school, right?

No fucking way they're doing Killers, Mariner, Powerslave and 7th son on the same set

I was already prepared for Rime, but Seventh completely blew me away."

So far half the setlist is great, half is the usual expected. Worse of all? They replaced the iconic backdrops with stupid fucking LED screens. I fucking hate LED screens so much.

FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

WHEN ARE THEY ANNOUNCING US TOUR DATES I'M GETTING PISSED OFF

How about their worst lyrics?

In a time when dinosaurs walked the earth

When the land was swamp and caves were home

In an age when prize possession was fire

To search for landscapes men would roam

Then the tribes they came to steal their fire

And the wolves they howled into the night

As they fought a vicious angry battle

To save the power of warmth and light

1. Be quick or be dead OR Ides of March + Murders in the Rue Morgue

2. Number of the Beast

3. Prowler

4. 2 minutes to midnight

5. From here to Eternity

6. Bring your Daughter to the Slaughter

7. Fear of the Dark (unfortunately again)

8. Run to the Hills

9. Phantom of the Opera

10. Powerslave (based on a hint from Dickinson from a recent interview)

11. Sanctuary

12. Running free

13. The trooper (unfortunately again)

14. Wasted years (unfortunately again)

15. Hallowed be thy Name

16. Iron Maiden

17. Die with your boots on

I don't think there will be any big surprises, but Killers, Children of the Damned, Clairvoyant/Can I play with Madness/Aces High (unfortunately)

ones I missed are

Wrathchild

Killers

7th son

Mariner

Powerslave

Die with your boots on

Running Free

Sanctuary

Bring your daughter

From here to eternity

I'm not happy with the second half of the set, way too predictable

way too predictable

Well I mean the thesis of this tour is basically Iron Maiden's Greatest Hits - Live, why would you expect anything out of left field

Because I counted on the new blood to make it possible for them to play some of the faster songs, not just play a longer set of the same stuff. Trooper, Aces High, Wasted Years, Wrathchild and even Powerslave should have all been replaced with songs from the first record and a few from No Prayer and Fear.

Good on them for bringing out Rue Morgue, Killers and 7th Son though.

No prayer and Fear have 2-3 excellent live show songs that could have gotten in instead of the usual.

get into maiden

"white man came across the sea they brought us pain and misery"

stop listening to maiden

That song is fucking amazing and isn't even by maiden lmao

RIDING THROUGH DUSTCLOUDS AND BARREN WASTES
BATTLING HARD ON THE PLAINS
CHASING THE REDSKINS BACK TO THEIR HOLES
MURDER FOR FREEDOM, THE STAB IN THE BACK
WOMEN AND CHILDREN AND COWARDS (that's you anon) ATTAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCKKKK

when you're truly redpilled you understand that the white men are the cool guys in that song

you're fucking retarded

I hate kikes and niggers.

based

reality makes the incel upset

many such cases
