/gg/ - guitar & bass general

This is pretty gay but I had gayer in mind, sick wolf shirt btw (by the way)

Want telecaster for awhile

Bud wants to get rid of some guitars his uncle left him

Has a lightly modded fender model telecaster from the 2000s

Heaviest guitar I've ever hefted

He's offering me a good price but I don't want to deal with that shit after spending a few years with a heavy LP
On the other hand, I think rhett said that the higher-end squiers are decent quality and a good base to start modding/building up from, I was thinking a 60s re-issue.

Gotta bulk up, start with whole foods like eggs, meat, dairy, no processed junk. Clean macros and heavy lifts. You'll get there sister

this band is mid as fuck and would be rightfully overlooked if not for sycophantic pandering imposter punk faggots

whoa who died and made you the arbiter of good and evil calm down buddy

Greta lookin kinda rough these days
still would

It's fun. idgaf about their message. Bring some noise better or relevant to the conversation or go ask GPT how to be interesting.

it just bothers me that this agenda driven, admittedly passable, hardcore band gets a boost just for being all about men dressing up as women. ironically it is way better than any hardcore band fronted by a real woman.

If a tele is heavy then it's made out of plywood, kick that shit to the curb.

they were just riding the coattails of other better bands in their area like GAG or Nudes
listen to Glue, listen to Lars
fuck listen to The Coneheads

Ash is heavier than alder at least.

Punch, Scowl, Gouge Away
What are you talkin bout bro?

love Coneheads, Uranium, DLIMC, powerplant

I will personally make a guitar out of your bones and sell it to a Haitian war criminal.

First for Gibson.

Has anyone else noticed that mexicans like to swarm guitar center and huddle in groups torturing acoustic instruments playing mariachi stuff and also set all the amps to max to blast out the next unsuspecting bastards ears?

Can't say that I have, whenever I go to GC theres like no one there except the employees I think its honestly some sort of drug front or maybe everyone just does that order online pickup thing so they don't spend much time there.

I've never had the balls to crank in GC. Kind of have to respect that.

what guitar is this

The cherry burst in the front? Hard to say. The horn looks more Strat like. Hamer was famous for those sort of double cut Les Paul types, but PRS had the more Strat like shape...except that's not a PRS either.

Southern Guitars, model: SP2 Flame.

Thats a book

gn sisters. If I die before I wake, shred my bones and spread the hate.

Good friend, for Jesus' sake, beware,

to dig the dust enclosed here.

For blessed be he who spares these stones,

and cursed be he who moves my bones.

thanks for the info chief but I've recorded in Denmark I think I know what I'm talking about

oh yeah well where are the choruses huh? every song every single fucking song is just verse after verse, it sounds like you are about to go into a chorus and bam another fucking verse, this isn't how you write a song you nimwit

How do yamaha bass guitars compare to the competition? Am I better of with another brand or am I in good hands?

Taylor Swift seems to do it.

I had a cheap Yamaha P-Bass knockoff once. It was cool. I'm not very picky about basses or bass amps though.

dust cap kinggs

I ain't clicking that shit nigga.

What was the name of it?

what do you know about song writing? every idea you present is just copying the beatles, you make me sick

I couldn't tell you. It was really cheap, but had a pickguard and Fender-like looks. One glance at their site and it doesn't look like they make it anymore.

Yeah and the beatles actually managed to sell some records funny that isn't it

Got my D-18 from the tech back. Shit is cash.

What work did you get done?

sure 90 years ago when every tom dick and harry who could play a lick sold a gold record, if the beatles came into the scene today they would've been washed away to obscurity because they suck and are a product of their time

Just action lowered. Guy did such a good job. I don't think I've ever had an acoustic guitar this low and smooth.

I've recorded in Denmark

I need a text book or something to learn at least the basics because I am a total retard and every time my hands touch my guitar I feel like I shouldn't have bought it. I haven't even owned it for two weeks...

what is a good book that isn't a subscription service or some youtuber's bullshit course? any free resources actually worth following?

DENMARK MENTIONED

cope

Down strum with your thumb slowly and learn intros to pop songs. The chords used tend to be beginner friendly. Every day play for like 5 min and try to either play something you've already learnt but better or learn something new and play that. In my experience this will lead to more growth than just autistically playing the same song over and over again.

If you want to learn songs ultimate-guitar.com/ is one of many sites that have tabs for songs. Their way of showing chords when you mouse over was very helpful for me when I started out a month ago

I don't know if this does it justice, but it's measured at 5/64. Which is just slightly higher than my electrics.

Yes

This sounds like it was recorded in Denmark

No case ribbon = not Denmark.

Hybrid II? It looks pretty much like a normal Jazzmaster just with a worse switch placement

No rhythm circuit, flatter radius, Mustang bridge, locking tuners, and taller frets.

i just like making noise on my guitar.
i play random notes instead of learning chords and scales

Mustang bridge

Bleak. The rest sounds alright though.

Satin neck, too.

That's not a bad thing. I'd just miss the rhythm circuit. It's been memed into being useless, but it isn't useless.

I love pink guitars

thanks anons

tabs and songs

I don't know if I am quite there yet. I have so many stupid beginner questions like correct form/hand position, best ways to practice timing, how to memorize note positions without counting, chords, etc. I will see if the beginner course answers those questions.

Me2, but only in some cases.
Do you have any?

Unfortunately no, but I have an unfinished telecaster body that's been sitting in my closet for years that I might paint shell pink

What's your bluesky

best ways to practice timing

Whenever you learn a new rhythm be it for strumming or for melody playing you count the beats out loud while playing at the same time. Once you got that down you practice with a metronome. The first part will slow down you practice considerably at the start because talking out loud while playing part is its own skill that needs to be learned. player.vimeo.com/video/674508455?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0

how to memorize note positions without counting

It's just laborious memorization and experience. It's easy to remember the note names when song X that you played a million times starts there or the root of chord Y is at that place. You should memorize the six and fifth string notes right before you learn the standard barre chord shapes. Once you got those down the rest is easy. Some time after that you might also want to get into playing major triads all over the neck and that will take care of that problem once and for all.

building chords

Triad arpeggios again

correct form/hand position

Just stay relaxed, hold the pick with two fingers and anchor your arm on the guitar, angle the pick blablabla. It's a lot.

unintentionally schizo posted again

It's truly over for me bros

So the Am Pro I?

Yes, it's the MIJ version of the AMProII. Different Japanese pickups, though.
