Why were there videos in the 70s? How did one watch them? There was no MTV till the 80s.
They were played on American bandstand and Midnight special in the U.S. It was a means to do promotion without actually having to be at the location.
Also they might be played at disco's or lounges depending on the distribution of the tapes.
BBC had live performances and there were more tv specials back them for specific artists. music videos werent necessarily for regular people to watch on demand, they were usually made so they could give it to tv stations for promo prior/after their live performance
I remember seeing everyone of these in 70's
memberberries for sure.
Even as the biggest fan of the 70's, outside of a few cool videos, the 80's were by far the best decade for music videos imo.
I'll agree. *0's was when the music video became an artform unto itself. I think OP's intention was to have a KB goon thread. 80's was when the huge budgets got spent on videos by Michael Jackson and Madonna
MTV video premiers were world earth shaking events that got weeks lead time and promotion.
We saw this one first though by a few months.

so just like today
Kinda but not really. youtube made it so the videos are on demand, In the 70's that certainly was not the case. The physical copy of the film or commercial video (VCR's were not available yet) had to be snail mailed or hand delivered to where it would be played.
