this list is only the melodic death metal era stuff and releases that didn't adopt the gothenburg style sound after slaughter of the soul, the jester race, the gallery etc came out.
mbm, death metal (melodic) and proto-mdm stuff will be their own separate lists later. i left them out on purpose. mdm+mbm and genre blurring stuff was left in this list for the most part.
