is buying a used guitar cuck shit?

No. It's the wisdom move.

No, you can sell them for the same money you got them for.

thanks to the other anon who deleted his guitar general. you beat me by 26 seconds and technically this thread should have been pruned.

you're welcome
I saw that your thread was the one where people were going to post in

You're a nice guy, unlike that other freak.

depends on the motive. vintagefags are insanely gay and unhappy with their wives.

Not even. But when I look for used, it's usually something relatively recent and just marked down simply because it's used. Or I look for discontinued gear. I don't care for vintage.

America in the 1960s: the picture.

I was half tempted to trade this Strat in for one of the new modified Player IIs but something in my gut is screaming out saying “NO! this is the most Strat sounding Strat you’ve ever heard in person, the playability and exact combo of these pickups and pieces of wood will be sorely missed if you part with them”. This is a guitar that feels and sounds better every time I play it, which reminds me of the rifle pictured with it. Perfect as is, a precision instrument crafted to perfection that suits its purpose on an intrinsic level.

Aren't these still around though?
The Strat is like the AR. Also, the Home PC. Motorcycles too, I guess.

Keep the Strat you have now. Comparison is the thief of joy.

Buying new is cuck move.

Most used gear hardly get any use. Normally it's either gear fags that are trimming down their collection to buy more gear or some kids strummed twice guitar being off-loaded by their parents. Either way you're bypassing the buy new tax only paid by chumps.

Not at all. A gamble? Yes. 2 of my last 5 were used, one was a Vintera Jaguar that was barely touched and still had the tags and cellophane on the plastics, the downside was it needed a full setup to become playable. Needed a shim for the neck, some fret work and pickup adjustments. The other was a Competition Mustang that was used quite a bit and felt well broken in. I actually prefer the Mustang, the previous owner set it up to perfection, it’s all settled and plays like butter from prior usage and TLC. The original owner painted the headstock and did a phenomenal job matching the paint color/gradient and even the amount of metallic sparkle. Not cuck shit, thinking about cuck shit is cuck shit, play a guitar before you buy it, put it through its paces, if the previous owner isn’t retarded then you can get something that’s actually better than brand new off the shelf, IMO at least.

Bassed. Speaking of, I need one. I’ve been tempted by Sterling but should I just get a P Bass? It’s for recording, probably best to go with the jack of all if it’s primarily going to be a tool to round out recordings right?

Buying new is cuck move.

Wrong. Buying a new, fresh, virgin guitar that no-one has ever played before is the other end of the based horseshoe. No skin fragments embedded in the pickups, no jizz on the fretboard, no iron filings fucking the magnets up, no sweat corrosion on the finish or wiring.
It's a beauty way to go.

They both became staples of Americana in the 60s I suppose was my gist

why is it the BOWA*XBR-M-79-07G Beam Rifle from mobile suit gundam????

well, I went ahead and ordered a Squier Esquire H as my secondary guitar (my primary is a Strat)
good choice? bad choice? time will tell.

Esquire.png - 3000x972, 1.04M

Good choice. You already get great neck tones from a Strat, but the blistering bridge of a Tele or Esquire is something you can't do. Assuming it's wired like an Esquire. They're hotter than Teles.

What's your guitar spirit animal?

the guys running the cnc machines are cumming hard on as many guitars as they can. if you get a fresh one you were lucky.

My chibson has been stuck at the post office for over a week. Who do I blame for this? Trump? The black postal workers? 1.4 billion Chinese people?

I don't get it.
what's the point of a tele without the twang?

A2 lower

in the 1960s

I don’t think so Tim

Nevermind that’s an A1 lower once I looked closer at the rear end of it

I love the open e tuning, you'd have to shoot me dead to change the tuning on the guitar

I have my guitar tuned a half step down and keep a capo on the first fret. Sounds better trust me.

That's the zero-fret effect.

want a jazz guitar

don't play jazz

what do?

HedBanger.jpg - 660x464, 65.77K

get one anyway, they're cool

the what?

The zero fret makes the dynamic response of the strings the same when open as when fretted. Chet Atkins also thought it sounded better, and put them on his Gretsches.

Do you keep those guitars out all the time? How do you manage dust?
Nice collection, Anon. You should get a semi or full hollow.

I would break in just to put that tree up for you, it's fucking May

The only one better than that was Lenny Breau.

Idc about competition, I think it's stupid.
Personally Jerry Reed is my favorite finger picker, but calling people the best is something that applies to sports not music.

Not if it’s a considerably good deal and it’s in playable condition. I wouldn’t spend more than 60% of the original retail value on a used guitar. Unfortunately reverb has convinced people that their 5 year old used PRS SE is worth 700 dollars used, but you can find deals here and there. Usually local marketplace is your best bet. I have yet to buy a used guitar that didn’t need a full setup.

Idc about competition, I think it's stupid.

but how can we argue about it then?

Anyone got one of them chinese jackson js32s? I need some advice on getting some good tones with one, particularly early megadeth sound. Amp/cab vsts only, let me hear your setup.
