based taste

Andy Edwards, not for any musical reason but simply because he's the most entertaining on Youtube. All the music I grew up with had programmed drums so I don't care who has the most chops.

Stewart Copeland. Definitive proof that the CIA needs more influence in the music industry.

Drumming is largely inconsequential desu. i cant understand having a favorite drummer unless you drum. Just stay in time play a couple of fills. thats all their is too it.
drum solos usually suck dick and are a waste of time.

Based.

I have no rhythm in my bones, the post

RIP

I really dig Budgie's drumming and percussion work for the Banshees. So stylish, yet so overlooked by people at large. You're more likely to run into dudes creaming themselves over McGeoch's guitars (and they are awesome) than over Budgie and Severin's top tier rhythm section, which is a shame desu.

He just shades Gary Husband as my favourite

Dude, his drumming on Tommy is awesome. He adds so much to tracks like "Amazing Journey" and "Pinball Wizard"

not all drummers play rock/pop, anon

His solo at the end of sugar n spikes is one of the most unique drumming performances i've ever heard.

Who?

Karen Carpenter is my favorite, unironically.

Sara Lund, she basically never overplayed anything despite being allergic to backbeats and her drum patterns are always incredibly creative and precise. Crazy good interplay with the rest of the band too

Says Elvin Jones to appear cool but really it's the guy from The Guess Who

The most versatile of all time no question, also incredibly precise and creative.

c'monnnnn

Art Blakey, Jaki Liebezeit, Neil Peart

An ironic military edge, but I'm thinking specifically of Eton Rifles
