What is the WORST rock genre and why is it punk...

What is the WORST rock genre and why is it punk? They have the most insufferable faggot fanbase I've ever seen and that's saying a lot. They are the biggest, most judgmental poser faggots in "music" (punk barely qualifies as music) and honestly they're cringe as hell, especially the ones that haven't grown out of punk by their mid-20s. Bottom line, punk "music" just sucks and anything else in rock is better to listen to.

Punk isn't about music anymore it's been swallowed up by the culture wars and is now essentially just an elaborate funding scheme for the DNC

Punk has been dead at least since 1979 or earlier. There's no reason to get mad about it. All you're talking about are larpers and the equivalent to Museum Tour Guides or Civil War Reenactors. They dress up in little costumes and take you on a guided tour of the main points and tell you "what it was like" (even though most of them weren't even there).

Punk isn't about music anymore it's been swallowed up by the culture wars and is now essentially just an elaborate funding scheme for the DNC

Both parties have weaponized pop music since at least the '80s. Fuck man, James Brown did "Livin' In America" as a favor to his friends the Reagans and the whole '80s heartland rock scene was DNC fundraising.

It doesn’t suck as much as Metal thoughbeit, their fans and music are cringe and at least Punk doesn’t have a Sleep Token on their music catalog

Both James Brown and Mellencamp were kind of wholesome and fun though.

The only true punk rock bands were The Ramones and Misfits. Everything else since then is just fake and gay and the clash was the fakest and the gayest.

Also forgot to add the Sex Pistols.

it didn;t used to be so bad, but now leftist trannies & corny black people are "punk" so it just comes off as limp and weak now

Punk gave us good genres at least (hello post-hardcore) and was formative to certain players and songwriters who went on to do good things, so its foundation is overall a positive for music. The subgenres it gave us are full of quality music to this day.
The very genre of punk rock itself though hasn't produced good music since the early 80s, which is a crazy thing to say because I can't think of another genre of music that has been this shit for this long. Oh and also everyone I knew who played punk nowadays was the stupidest leftoid cunt you could imagine

Valid points. Post hardcore, "emo" (inb4 that copypasta about gay ass Sunny Day Real Estate), and pop punk are all awesome genres.

punk music still exists it's just not the stuff you're talking about. punk is anything that is completely in opposition to all that

Oh and also everyone I knew who played punk nowadays was the stupidest leftoid cunt you could imagine

When I thought I was a punk (which I wasn't... I was just a little shit who liked skateboarding and the music in those videos), none of us thought about politics. What 12 or 13 year old gives a shit about that? Not very cool ones. I'd say. Half of my little crew went on to become thugs or died young. Not class president.

Oh yeah, I think being a "rebel" and calling oneself a punk nowadays has nothing to do with each other. The people I mentioned were mid20s, half of them were trans etc. Those "no future" kids well idk I'm sure some of them call themselves punks but I can't even imagine them being under the same umbrella at all

Nothing says "Punk" like the official ideology of the global corpo-state

A lot of punk sucks, but that's because it's aggressive, but never goes hard enough, so it leaves you wanting. But when punk crosses over with metal, be it in the form of cross-over thrash, grindcore, and *some* metalcore, then it can be really great. One other things I'd comment on, is that punk's leftist and anarchist politics were truly outsider ones back in the day, so being an outsider was a crucial part of punk's identity. But since then a lot of such sentiments became mainstream, thus leading punk to having identity crisis. But hey, I don't really care. To me it's about the sonics, not the lyrics or the culture.

It's no longer punk if it's metal/metalcore/fillintheblankcore. The whole point is that punk by itself sucks. Yeah it influenced some great stuff, but the very nature of punk is to suck and be cringey, honestly.

What is the WORST rock genre and why is it punk?

proceeds to entirely talk about the people who listen to it instead of the music.

Child detected, stop using music as a fashion accessory.

I find it really funny, that in the metal crowd those subgenres are "not metal", and in the punk crowd they are "not punk"

The "leftist values" of punk are just a retelling. It didn't have a clear identity in the first place. Generally it was more left leaning than right leaning, but so are most youth movements.

based Ramones

half of them were trans etc.

Yeah total conformist, transitioning just like everyone else nowadays. True rebels keep their penises attached.

I Wanna Sniff Some Glue

Yeah, I sucked dick for heroin. What of it?

OG punk politics

A lot of the "lore" and "culture" surrounding punk music was made up by music journalists in the 80s that were never actually a part of the punk scene in any relevant capacity and was picked up by later waves of punk fans adapting to the bullshit music journalists spewed.

One of my favourite revisions is how music journalists manufactured some autistic rivalry between punk rock and progressive rock even though both scenes barely even interacted with eachother and there's more examples of old-school punk musicians praising prog rock than trashing it.

Yeah, I sucked dick for heroin. What of it?

Okay but then says "no homo" and kills his client to drive the point home

There was the "I hate pink floyd" shirt and I recall several (tonge in cheek) anti-hippie lyrics, but yes, I can absolutely believe that the press exaggerated it like they often do.

Fripp ran somewhat in punk circles because of Bowie. And his wife was "new wave" at least.
Of course, he contributed to the best Blondie song too.

>defending punk

"s-s-st-stop using music as a fashion!"

Yeah ok

Yeah, as opposed to sticking it to the man by becoming trans, sticking it to the status quo by calling le white man bad xD, yeah that sure was counter-culture especially during the Biden admin while living in Portland and Seattle

you shouldn't care about the fans

barely these days

multiple classic rock bands

lots extreme metal bands

one new wave band

You're a child who uses music as a fashion accessory to feel good about yourself. All of your complaints about a genre of music is fucking directed at the "mean fanbase who hurt my feelings". Neck yourself faggot.

Punk has always been gay. Listen to hardcore.

gotta know where to look, and broaden your horizons

You're

stopped reading there, punk is shit from an ass, nigga listen to rap

punk is shit

but here's some pus discharge from gonorrhea

tbf both are genres for queer poc of color thougbeit

I could not agree more, OP. It is, and has always been, for terminally-gay FAGGOTS. Hell, if you went on any public TV station or music show and said "Punk is the single gayest genre of music ever invented," with a big smile on your face, you'd probably get a round of genuine applause. They don't even see that as a bad thing... They think it's a compliment to their virtue, or something.

Suck a dick punk rock faggot I guarantee you have a gaylord battle jacket and stupid hair

You are OBSESSED with how other people see you you retarded underage faggot.

I'm more confused why theres an Altered Beast patch on there, that game kinda sucks

Not really but fashion is really entrenched into punk more than any other genre. You can dispute this all you want but it's true you assumptive fucking fagmaster.

I hate thing because of the people who enjoy it, they're dumb and look stupid

btw i'm not a superficial faggot who uses music as a fashion accessory
