What is the fab four's best album?

What is the fab four's best album?

I'm going with pic related. The only weak link is Maxwell's Silver Hammer, which is still goofy and fun in its own way. Everything else is a masterpiece.

Oh Darling and She's So Heavy alone are better than any of their psychedelic stuff (which I also love)

Magical Mystery Tour and it's not even close.

but it was just a compilation album

It captured their most lucid period as a band

It's hands down better than Pepper. I agree it has no weak songs. If it weren't a compilation album with previously released singles then it would be rated much higher.

Rubber Soul

Half of that album sucks. I really don’t get it. Flying, blue jay way, and magical mystery tour all suck.

Rubber Soul

Inferior to Revolver
and you know it

Blue Jay Way is a great George song. It's a little spacey and slow. The Leslie speaker vocals give it a creepy vibe, and all the ringo drum fills are sweet. Flying is cool, but it's just an little instrumental interlude that acts more as a mood setter.

Magical Mystery Tour is awesome. The breakdown with the trumpets and singing at top register at the end is epic. I like how it's all pitched up a half step. The bass line is really nice.

I might be biased because I listened to this album front to back on vinyl many times. I think it works well as a cohesive experience listened front-to-back.

for me it's either Abbey Road or Revolver

pleb detected. Blue Jay Way is great

Revolver has too much indian bullshit on it. despite I'm only sleeping being my favorite beatle song id say rubber soul is better front to back

Rubber Soul

trying to re-listen to their discography recently really soured me on paul's songs except for penny lane

Abbey Road is their only masterpiece as an album, OP.

it's not even close

It's a great album, but it's nowhere near their best or most inventive and clever.

Abbey Road catches them right at their artistic peak, ironic they were going to call it Everest.

Sgt. Pepper. Contrarian swing makes it so no one says it's their best anymore but it was.
I don't understand people who say Rubber Soul. Everything they did afterwards was an improvement and expansion.

Never been topped

Rubber Soul.

All Things Must Pass are all Beatles-level tracks, though. #FreeGeorge

Boyband fag inbound t minus 16 minutes

Anon Babble would've bullied you for these gay posts btw, we used to hate the beatles. you probably were too young to post here, i don't think you would've liked it.

Called it. Always around this time boyband fag shows up. It’s almost like a routine

it's almost like time moves on, except you, apparently

I mean, he’s just going to keep doubling down on this.

How is Flying bad?

Agree with flying and blue jay way, but magical mystery tour fucks.

Except by Abbey Road, which is a more polished less clunky White Album.

Agree that there's way too much sitar. I also don't think it's as tight as their other great albums on the whole, but Tomorrow Never Knows might be their best song.

captured their most lucid period

Do you even know what lucid means? They were tripping/drug taking constantly during the MMT era, which resulting in a half arsed mess. Still albeit some quality tracks, just not a cohesive album worth revisiting that often.

I like Rubber Soul, but if it didn't have In My Life then I would probably never listen to it.

Revolver > Rubber Soul > Sgt Pepper > White > Abbey > AHDN > Help! > MMT > With the > For Sale > PPM > Let it Be

MMT is cool but Pepper is better by a lot. The problem with Pepper is that during the 70s-90s music writers jerked it off so hard as the greatest album that ever was or will be, that it got oversaturated and there has been a reaction against it since around y2k. It has gone from being the most overrated Beatles album to the most underrated. Mono Pepper >>>>>> stereo.

Blue Jay Way rules

It’s really close. Those two mid period albums are peak.

The Beatles were hard men

Don't you think it was kind of gay? Was he trying to get in touch with his feminine side?

Lemmy.jpg - 964x1024, 155.82K

Let it be is superior to all of their early records.

Based RS and revolver appreciator even though White album is #1 for me

So now Motörhead is gay to you? Pathetic

Revolver and Rubber Soul aren't better than Abbey Road, give me a break. They're basically all practice runs UNTIL Abbey Road minus a song here or there. Everything else from those albums is dated and old.

No, he was just trying to dispel the notion that the stones were harder than the beatles

and why exactly should i give a shit about what Anon Babble used to do according to you, a faggot?

Abbey Road is GOAT, and would've been a good way for the band to end, if that had been their swan song album, as intended.

The whole concept of "Best" album is always a matter of opinion, and of personal taste though, so you'll get lots of responses.

Boy, I sure hope Boyband Fag hasn't posted in this thread yet, otherwise this thread is already ruined.....

MMT is tied with Revolver as personal favorites.

If you're willing to do the leg work, it shouldn't be too hard to find a copy of the original MMT e.p. with only the songs from the movie. I, however, like the album with the previously released songs.

Which version?
There are four of them, you know.....

BLASPHEMY!

Abbey Road is 80% leftovers from the Get Back sessions. White Album was the band’s biggest and last creative peak, showing everyone’s talents and diversity. The band should have called it quits right after the album came out.

YOU, I LIKE!

too much indian bullshit

Only two songs, and I like those songs.

Paul does have some good songs, but a lot of it is pablum and "Granny shit" though, but when he writes a good song, it's a banger

Mono version is best.

GOAT

AAAAANNNNNDDDDDDD..........
The thread is now RUINED!

And do you know what happens every time Boyband Fag shows up to ruin a Beatles thread?

Toe Jam.jpg - 1046x1586, 213.7K

I respectfully disagree

That's the worst song on the whole damn album!

How is it that this anon can reply to multiple posts without getting flagged as "SPAM"?

This was a much better album

BASED MONO PEPPER POSTER!

Try saying that three times fast.....

Abbey Road is just leftovers from the failed Get Back project.
Here, There, and Everywhere is a great Brian Wilson tribute.

But it's not, it's a compilation of that material, leftover White Album, and current compositions. I think you have it the other way around: the leftover material they saved is better than what went on the Let It Be album. I Want You or even George's later All Things Must Pass are better than the entirety of Let It Be. Also the production is ten times better than Phil Spector's.

Get Back is terrible. There’s a reason why it was rejected twice. The take selection is awful.
