For me, it’s Ty Tabor

Is that the white version of Gabor Szabo

I'm kind of thinking of getting noiseless pickups for my tele since I'm mostly a bedroom musician surrounded by computer shit. Do they really sound compromised compared to regular single coils?

I just set up my foxy box distortion again and love the sound I really like warm audio shit, might buy more

Good alternate picking starts on ONE STRING.

dude what is this meme about alternate picking? Like that's something you just do and dont have to think about if your not a nerd

And this is a picture of my Les Paul when it was just one week old

Middle aged dudes replacing childbearing with consuming

Kinda sad.

She looks great and its already making others seethe.

I'm no expert with bat ears, but they seem good to me. Although you might be able to resolve that noise issue another way. They're probably more of a godsend for gigging musicians than bedroom. You can control your bedroom. Not every bar.

Why keep it in storage? Looks cool.

I have too many guitars and it just got lost in the shuffle during a move. I mean, it’s pretty disgusting too, there’s all kinds of fluids and fentanyl patches and drug paraphernalia on it. It should probably be destroyed as a biohazard but I can’t bring myself to part with it.

oil that fretboard man.

The key to playing fast is to practice slowly

I have noiseless single pickups on my strat. They're Seymour Duncans so the quality is there, they do the job well. If you're really concerned about your tone you should remember there are several factors to your tone:
- position of the pickup on the body
- load of the tone pot(s)
- height of the pickup
that make a huge difference
and finally of course:
- the magnet
- the thickness of the coil
So it's not just "ah man this pickup is only an Alnico IV that loads a 10.24ohms", it will sound its own way once mounted in.
But yeah if you want to know if noiseless singles work, they absolutely do and they sound just great. Better than if you were to cage your body cavity, that still gives 20% hum I guess.

texas specials are better

Something like that

Gear still horribly overpriced

everything is insanely underpriced EXCEPT for USA made equipment, which is the correct price.

every time you whine your nuts shrink a little

Always use vero board. Then just make this out of e waste.

Anyone get this Pentatonic course?

fellas i think i've hit a rut with learning. i'm about a year into playing and not exactly sure where to go from here to get better. my goal overall is to just be able to play songs that i like quicker.

im tired of all the youtube clickbait (PRACTICE THIS FOR 10 MINUTES A DAY) type videos that only show spiderwalks and practicing scales. i want something that'll elevate my overall technique so i can play the songs i like without too much frustration

he fell for the spiderwalk meme

have you considered actually focusing on the scales and chord progressions used in the songs you want to learn?
as you learn start to recognize chord progression patterns then you will know the applicable scales, which you then know what to work on within for the melodies. there are no shortcuts to music theory.

how much does music theory even matter if all i want to do is play songs, not make them? genuine question because i have no idea

it matters if you want to actually learn the songs, not play them.
theory is the toolkit to deconstruct songs into their component structures, which allows you to simplify the learning process as well as make memorization easier. you absolutely can make do without it via brute force, but it it is almost equivalent to memorizing a speech or song in a language you don't speak.

How much do tools matter to the carpenter?

Playing in key, knowing major/minor scales is hardly theory.

if all i want to do is play songs, not make them

How much does literacy matter if all you want to do is read other people's books, not write them? You'll just be forced to learn in the process.

There are also multiple approaches to

all i want to do is play songs

Do you want to play a song after learning it from tabs, shit music, or by ear?

Tube Screamer as a boot into Klon
or Tube Screamer boost after Klon?

is it buffered?

What do I do with scales

Pray they tell you a smaller number once a day.

I got a new pick today

Is there a bass book for blues? It's very fun to play but I dont know what I'm doing. Something with shapes or fingering?

Are you going to put a riff on it or are you trying to keep it minty?
