Beatle bros... what do we do

cover.png - 591x593, 567.8K

Do you really think it does

It's the weakest of the first five Byrds albums too

its better, thats for sure
dissagreed

Turn Turn Turn is the weakest. The b-side really falls off.

it doesn't and i mostly dislike Shittles
like a third of the album is just really poor songwriting
All I Wanna Do is also a poor cover
but in terms of musical influence it's more important, yes

It's a good album and Rubber Soul might have not existed without it, but I wouldn't say it mogs. The second album is a stronger contender, it's less innovative but it saw them exploring the folk-sound they pionereed and their songwriting became more personal and had some depth to it (see "Set You Free this Time").

I cant enjoy music

I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better

You Won't Have to Cry

Here Without You

All I Really Want to Do

I Knew I'd Want You

It's No Use

don't like any of these, really bland and forgettable
I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better was somehow a hit but i don't know, it's just really plain

If we really want to play dirty, I say this is a much better album than anything the beach boys did before pet sounds

you obviously haven't listened to Today!

as a Beach Boys enjoyer, I dont wanna think about it

It's a decent album, but clearly not on the level of Rubber Soul. It sounds dated now, but Rubber Soul remains fresh

this is, in fact, not true.
the Byrds debut album still holds up to this day

idk, i don't listen to boyband shit that Anon Babble used to make fun of pre 2016. no seriously, they used to and it was better that way.

its an overrated boyband, so what? they have a couple of good albums

It "holds up" - like I said it's a good album. But I think the production sounds dated. The songs are a bit too same-y.
So I think it's 8/10, while rubber soul is more like 9/10

The songs are a bit too same-y.

This is a valid point and I agree, I still enjoy it a lot tho

So I think it's 8/10, while rubber soul is more like 9/10

I dont think any of them are great (8 or higher), Rubber Soul gets more boring on a full litsen for me, some songs there are total filler.

I guess you are right. I don't listen to Rubber Soul much these days. But I think songs like Drive My Car, Norwegian Wood, Michelle and In My Life are S-tier kino. Maybe only the title track of Mr. Tambourine Man compares to it.

yea Rubber Soul has some bangers, also as far as I know it did the role of popularizing the psych sound more than the Byrds

What kind of fucking idiot doesn’t enjoy both Rubber Soul and Mr. Tambourine Man? That’s what I want to know. Both albums are great and still hold up incredibly well 60 years later. Is posting your contrarian “hot take” so you can feel like Fantano really worth making yourself seem like a closed-minded retard with no ears?

Also, the official Byrds album ranking is as follows:
1. Notorious Byrd Brothers
2. Sweetheart of the Rodeo
3. Mr. Tambourine Man
4. Younger than Yesterday
5. Turn! Turn! Turn!
6. 5D
7. Ballad of Easy Rider
8+. The rest

posts bunch of good songs

say they're all bad

Stunning and brave

I love The Byrds and they probably did le create le psychedelia but they only have a couple songs I would genuinely listen to on repeat. Love is better than either for much the same thing.

I'm at McDonalds in Boston rn and this neckbeard walked past me. He saw Anon Babble open on my phone, sat down at my table and said "based". It just confused me and I'm not used to people bothering me in public so all I could respond with was "huh?". I didn't even really process what he said, thought he might be asking for help or something. "Are you a CAN fan too?" with his greasy fingers rubbing against my hand to point at the screen, leaving disgusting fingerprints and smudges all over. "Love,The Moody Blues,Jimi Hendrix,The Rising Storm,A-440,West Coast Experimental Pop Art Band,Funkadelic,Jefferson Airplane,Quicksilver Messenger Service,Santana,Agitation Free,Amon Düül ii,Shocking Blue,Q65, and The Dovers" he continued excitedly, yelling in a whispered tone like he had just met a new best friend. All I could do was awkwardly laugh it off and mumble "yeah man" or something even though I fucking HATE basic psych music. So we just sat together for a while he smiled at me and left little comments about how cool it was to meet a CAN fan in public, or prod me about finding cheap weed. After a while of this hassling I couldn't fucking stand it any longer "Actually, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, The Doors, The Monkees and the Beatles are the greatest artists of all time!" I screamed at his stupid face, the entire McDonalds hearing my roars. The other diners stood up and gave me a standing ovation for being patrician, then we chanted "FAST AND BULBOUS! TIGHT ALSO; TAPERED TOO!" until the faggot was bullied out the McDonalds. W?

I'm at home right now in bed hitting a vape. Cannot confirm this.

Also

Any of the bands I mentioned being more basic than The Beatles

Frank Zappa and Beefheart not just being Hasbin Hotel/Retard Psych Music for whatever the 60s equivalent to neckbeards were

"Love,The Moody Blues,Jimi Hendrix,The Rising Storm,A-440,West Coast Experimental Pop Art Band,Funkadelic,Jefferson Airplane,Quicksilver Messenger Service,Santana,Agitation Free,Amon Düül ii,Shocking Blue,Q65, and The Dovers"

"CAN"

You got this part right though. No trolling or anything there. I do in fact love all those bands.

You forgot Untitled (1970), easily top 3

Safe as Milk is one of the greatest albums in American musical history

It's kinda generic and didn't really do much. Very forgettable album desu. As out there and experimental as his later work maybe was or at least tried to be the name is quite apt.

I understand it's your "correct" "understanding" of "kino" though and that it has to be something that "Chad and Stacy" won't "get" regardless of actual quality,so you did a good job at jonkler-maxxing which I will give you.

I made sure to not fix West Coast Experimental Pop Art Band

Having lost your virginity at a normal age would help with this.

You have Bob Markley-esque traits so I can see why you would care so much about that. He probably would have owned a gaming desktop and listened to TMR aswell.

The funny part is nobody into WCPAEB actually thinks Markley was cool just interesting/creative. The initial appeal of TMR was clearly just to laugh at Beefheart for being a retard and dressing like 60s Chris-Chan and you guys unironically think he was le cool gigachad badass. Regardless though The Byrds WERE important for when they came out. 5th Dimension and 8 Miles Hogh are classics.

>I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better

that's literally one of the only decent songs on the entire album

If the fucking Byrds have any album that's an 8/10, then what the fuck is something like Led Zeppelin II? Nah, the best Byrds album (take your pick) is a 6/10 max and even that is being generous. Dated garbage, it doesn't hold up at all.

This. They were more a singles band. I can shit on The Beatles all I want but it wasn't random that The Byrds got overshadowed fast. Like they have a couple great songs don't get me wrong. They started the ball moving for sure.

What's your stance on Led Zeppelin, Nicotranny?

Can confirm. I was the big mac.

They're ugly af so they already lost. No one remembers ugly stars only good looking ones

Then why do people still talk about Radiohead? They're ugly and they don't even have good music either.
