What did I think?
Dropping like flies.
Surprising when they're in their nineties!
Dude was 99 years old
he's next
That wouldn't be much of a surprise given he's now the oldest jazzman and last survivor of his era
he's now the oldest jazzman
There's Dick Hyman (97)
Why do people have to die, bros?
either you die a hero or live long enough to release tutu
give me something dark and haunting
i like tutu unironically
there's a trane compilation called To The Beat of A Different Drum where he plays with Roy Haynes. nothing spectacular but a fun oddity
I like it ironically
bump for you lads
and benny golson and quincy jones
fun fact benny golson loved glen miller and tex beneke
Not quite either of those things, but pretty melancholic

Just google roy haynes.
This is good, I like this
rest of the album kinda stinks though
fair
I like Star People better, but the live recordings from 81-83 blow both albums out of the water. His band from that period is super underrated.
BUMP
Scam by the shovel industry.
I met Roy when I was a kid at a concert. Cool guy
RIP
i can't stand those cheesy drum machines
also the least interesting miles era
The fooking jazz combo GOAT. RIP Master!!
Not music.

Sad to hear about Roy Haynes' passing. For nostalgic reasons I always come back to this Metheny trio album, featuring his signature, highly idiosyncratic snap-crackle'n'pop drum style in many solos throught the record.
