Anyone else notice Gen Z is not producing any masterpieces? Most musicians make their best work in their early 20s, so it's quite weird to see this void when so much of Gen Z is in that age bracket now.
Anyone else notice Gen Z is not producing any masterpieces? Most musicians make their best work in their early 20s...
Yes nigga it's been echoing around here. Oldfags can't into new music especially if it's by Gen Z.
Obviously no masterpieces is overstepping but in general you are seeing less and less high effort music which it takes high effort to create a masterpiece it can't happen in 15 minutes between yt shorts sessions and meals. Not all high effort music is great, but all great music is high effort, and it's rare to get a zoomer including myself these days to sit down and stew in artistic execution for the long hours it takes. But I have done it before before I had a 9-5/5. YMMV on masterpiece but I really put my heart and soul into some songs and the majority of new stuff I see pushed now just doesn't have that. I'm not a fan of black midi the band but they clearly are exceptions to this rule. And I could see myself calling their song slow (loud) a masterpiece
what is yeat and ian
disagree = unc status
feel free to make a post being unable to refute this, maybe a little bit of cope and seethe too
it takes high effort to create a masterpiece
false. creativity snd inspiration are not effort
Music isn't as valued culturally as it was pre-Internet. I don't think the millennials ever produced anything approaching a masterpiece either, and for the same reasons.
posts a pic of a boyband to make his point of an artist who made a masterpiece
we had one direction? they might be millennials tho idk
there's still good albums
just not by young people
you need to take your meds right now, you deranged psycho. you're going to be the next lee goldson
Most musicians make their best work in their early 20s
>SOURCE NEEDED
You guys wanted sigma chungus manchild shit and got it,congradulations!
Is having inspiration the only bar? In that case I've made countless masterpieces. (In my head)
No it's takes effort to be able to execute your creativity.
Youth is the fuel of ambition, cope.
His source is that he missed out on his twenties and he's projecting his own fantasies onto others. Watch.
I'm 22
You having your punished arc rn sperg?
I amend my statement, there has been one Gen Z masterpiece: Ants From up There
But it's interesting to see it was produced by art school twats. Grass roots music is dead.
They are too busy trying survive and afford housing cuz the rent is too damn high and Boomers and Gen X are hoarding all the land inefficiently.
Maybe so. It can take decades to execute your ambitions. I easily have enough started songs, voice recordings and story ideas to keep me busy creating for a long long time
you're an idiot if you think that windmill shit is good
lets look at the genres and gen z
pop: just white girls acting like sluts and singing over nu disco or retro pop nostalgia core
rock: either dead, or mac demarco wall paper rock that makes people yawn
rap: hit the wall, is dominated by 40 year old niggas like drake, kendrick, ye
folk: error 404
country: dominated by pop country garbage
r&b: error 404
i give gen z till the end of the 2020s, if they produce no classics by then then they were a true waste of space
i’m not reading that, it hurts my eyes to look at all that twitter reddit spacing retardation
too late, you read it, its over
i didn’t reddit, not even the first line
You old retards don’t understand gen z music just like your parents didn’t understand your music. This isn’t rocket science
ok so name some classic albums so us oldfags can check it out. you do know of gen z classics, riiiiiiiiggghhhttt????
Fair enough.
Can you explain what that means in the context of Undertale? I have a veauge idea of the tropes but not exactly sure what you meant. I did run out of weed though and only have one can of beer left so I'm a bit of a grumpy chudjak rn yeah. That's offset by a good interview I had last week though. Hoping I get picked sis ngl.
It's an edgy OC of Sans who has sunken into the darkness of depression just like you
The Gauntlet,Stormcloak,Old Nick, and then a bunch of rap music that my friends listen to and maybe some pop country. So basically nothing that is remotely listenable from the 2020s that would be discussed on Anon Babble whatsoever. Unironically all either Rap,Country,or Black Metal.
That's more how I felt last year desu. Staying off psychedelics has been going well although I do miss them and my girlfriends been medicated and calmed down a lot although there is still some leftover tension. Be lying if I said the last two years weren't rocky but it is what it is. Yk shit happens. I've always had shit happen,I was diagnosed with the punished sans undertale traits when I was fucking 7,but life goes on nonetheless.
i didn’t ask you, you fucking retard. your opinion is worthless
It's like how cigarette smokers get when they run out. Most stoners don't because weed actually isn't as adictive, but I freely admit I smoke a lot even though I wouldn't consider myself an addict (yeah I know people say that),but it's like chainsmokers get with no cigarettes. I don't really play a lot of videogames though and I haven't played Undertale although I do like some JRPGS or did in high-school. I guess I'm just not sure. If you think so maybe, but I'm more just waiting on my shit yk?
You're the one who's actually mentally retarded though and my opinion is worth significantly more than yours is. Inb4 telling me to listen to Dreamtheatdr or whatever weird furry shit.
Mkgee - Two Star and the Dream Police
Piscids - Ocean Arson
Carlton Heston - D.R.E.A.M
Barely March - America, Online
never heard of any of it, presume it’s all 7.8 pitchfork indie bullshit but i’ll give it a whirl anyway because maybe in time it’ll be considered great. i still agree mostly with op that there isn’t anything that you have been unable to miss. like a dark side of the moon, or thriller, or ok computer type album that the masses agree is a classic and it doesn’t stay hidden
If I knew how to make music I would be that nigga.
Oh yeah I just mean classics to me. 3/4 of those have less than 10k streams on any song. I would give Dream Police an 8/10, Ocean Arson, DREAM and America Online 6/10 (as full albums but they have good songs that's what I really care about)
classics to me
so there are no classics
Not universally. There are some for large subcultures though like black midi, Black Country New Road, Squid, Jane Remover and Cacola for RYM, and 6ix9ine, xaviersobased, gunna, dababy, Tommy Richman, Juice World etc. For wiggers.
it literally takes effort to make music you mong
PRODUCT exists
They're worried someone will video them doing it and cringe post them
black midi
Magdalena Bay
Chappell Roan
on the verge of WW3
in the middle of an economic depression
brain rotting drugs "mysteriously" being shipped en masse into the U.S.
massive influx of illegal immigrants from multiple countries all over the world
extremely competitive job market because now we're competing with ranjeet and zhang over a simple coding job
stagnant wages/high inflation
rent is unaffordable
country is on the verge of a civil war
education system in shambles
We've got more important things to worry about right now unfortunately.
Gen Z is not producing any masterpieces
neither did millennials
Millennials' music was made by late GenX-ers. And there was a lot of it that was great.
Zoomers live in an internet era in which there is no gatekeeping anymore, so they were able to cheaply and easily produce their own music for their own generation, not having to persuade a label to sign them. I think that's one of the reasons why their music is so lax, so lacking in high standards, like they didn't have to earn a high spot
black midi
I think that's the only quality music that zoomers produced, and that only for one album, then they got lost into the chaos of their own influences they were trying to replicate in a new form
We have not had good music in 100 years
Most musicians make their best work in their early 20s
RATM was in the late 20s at their peak. Belinda Butcher and Kevin Sheilds were the same for Loveless. Cobain was in his Mid 20s for Nevermind and In Utereo and Kendrick was in his Mid 20s when he released GKMC. Our oldest just turned 27 this year. Shut the fuck up nigger. Also we just went through a 3 year pandemic when we were all forced inside. Also poptimism, mumble rap and Woke / DEI shit ripped through everything like a disease.
This to a point. Apart from some of the Emo revival bands and a couple of rappers Millennials can't say shit.

Millennials can't say shit.
Huh
The Strokes
White Stripes
Crystal Castles
Interpol
The XX
all classic millennialcore.
Sure as it's often the case, one generation's music is done by the previous generation in their mid or late 20s.
Cobain was on the lower limit of GenX, 3 years younger than the youngest boomer.
Band music died in the 2000s.
What is this dogshit? Why would you listen to any of this when the symphonic masterpieces of Mahler exist? This all looks like such vapid, simplistic uninteresting music.
random google result of a dogshit website nobody cares about is 100% gospel
Beethoven's greatest music was composed at the end of his life, so was Bach's, Wagner's, Mahler's, every composer that matters. This only makes sense for vapid music directed at hedonistic youth, hardly anything artistically profound

Giving you this one 3/3
Also Jay Retard, the members of Death Grips and the guy behind Of Montreal are all Gen X. Have fun nigger. The stagnation is shared between both our gens whether you like it or not.
Gerad Way is Gen X as well
fucking nigger faggots.
WHERE IS ALL THE MILLENNIAL MUSIC? WHO THE FUCK LISTENS TO SOULJA BOY? LITTLE FAGGOTS. ABSOLUTE WASTE OF SPACE THAT SHOULD BE MAIMED.
But that has always been the case, dude. The previous generation made music for the next. The Beatles were from the Silent Generation, Biden's generation. They made music for boomers, the next generation.
Cobain was also an old GenXer, close to young boomer, making music for GenX and millennials. He was on the edge of generations making music for 2 generations overlapping the divide. I was in school when Nirvana was popular and it was my music too, as a millennial. But Cobain was not from our generation.
Zoomers are an exception as I explained because all barriers to entry in music have been destroyed by the internet, so access is so easy, they're the first generation making music for their own. And it's shit.
The current music scene, the charts, the mainstream industry is all dominated by millennials, Swift, Beyonce, Lamar, Drake, etc. All millennials.
Even this is a complete joke for Gen X, none of these works are of any real value and exist only as part of a zeitgeist that will be inevitably forgotten. There is nothing about these that is worth studying or analyzing, it's all so empty.
I know most our music is shit I'm not disputing that. I was arguing against OP who was claiming that Early 20s is an artists peak. See below.
Most musicians make their best work in their early 20s, so it's quite weird to see this void when so much of Gen Z is in that age bracket now.
Also in counter to my own point Hayley Willaims is an exception. Same with Avirl Lavigne but you can say the same shit about Olivia Rodrigo.
Also Denzel Curry, DJ Paul, Juicy J and Nas for both X and Y
(c)rap
music
Why aren't zoomers shoving good music (in the genres I am accostumed to) down my throat??
on.soundcloud.com
Now we wait for the butthurt millenials.
What is this shit
Why cant people born since 1900 make good music
Beeps, boops, buzzes, sfx, melanin enrichment, some ho and other assortments of novel crap.
Definitely zoomercore.
