Yes. I found it extremely hard to stay motivated. Also I never tried writing lyrics.
A lot of industrial metal is basically rockshit already, with exception to some IBM.

It's easy to be motivated when you have the right environment, the right tools, a good little studio. Writing songs doesn't mean you have to go at it all day every day.
