Why are inductees ok with being passed over for decades, then finally get in because there's nobody else available? One of the sports hall of fames has is where you can only be inducted during a 5 year period or whatever once you are eligible. Once that window passes and you aren't in, you are never eligible again.

Hank Ballard was already inducted. Ballard's original Twist remains superior to Checker's lightweight cover version. of course Ballard also wrote and performed many other great classics, unlike the flash in the pan Checker.
