Flyleaf

Now there's a throwback

No Sleater-Kinney anywhere?

also I removed a bunch of asian bands

KWAB

Do this list but only include bands where the women play an instrument that isn't the bass.

How low on the list are The Distillers?

pretty grim desu

Evanescence being at the top is crazy seeing as how the average person knows MAYBE 2 songs from them and both of those songs came out ~20 years ago.

MAYBE 2 songs

the save me! song and.... which is the other one again?

succ

How did Cults get that popular. I thought they were just another forgotten p4k fotm band

Where's Arch Enemy?

Mazzy Star

Beach House

Beach Bunny

fake popularity

Beach House has 93 million monthly viewers on youtube music, surpassing all the others from this list

what the hell? Space Song is not even the most watched video among these bands

the human voice is the most advanced musical instrument

Concrete Blonde conspicuously absent
youtu.be/E2m1R37pHUo
boa being higher than so many others is the perfect example that revisionary internet memes rule the music scene just like all the other “arts”
Mazzy star was big
youtu.be/T-vSRGc3qSo
Juliana Hatfield of course deserving to be higher on that list

TikTok (as always), slowed version of Always Forever in 2022, sped up version of Gilded Lily in 2023

Evanescence

1 good song

The Cranberries

2 good songs

Heart

2 good songs
The rest suck especially Paramore. Female fronted bands are weak as fuck

#5,544 (5th death metal band I think)
#9,206
lol no, they're too low to have the exact ranking but it's around #15,000 (just above Liz Phair, Pitchfork's 4th best 90s album btw)

Weak and gay bullshit

i expected The Cranberries to be the highest

i'm also surprised to see how low Blondie and No Doubt are

They do have a recent song (from the Devil May Cry series) which helps, also Fallen is by far the most popular album from these bands

doesn't Bruno Mars have 1 billion "monthly audience" as well? seems like bullshit desu

dream pop

alt-rock subgenre, Cocteau Twins != Madonna

Roxette, Bangles

pop rock

Blondie

new wave

Beach Bunny

indie rock/power pop (pop rock subgenre)

Sundays

Cults

Bôa indie pop

also I removed a bunch of asian bands

Put them back

Cranberries used to be much lower actually (like #2,000) and then they had a couple of Tiktok hits, especially Linger last year. Blondie same thing, last year they were #3,500

i see, i guess i'm pretty out of touch when it comes to the taste of casuals

i shouldnt have searched what the lead singer looks like now

aight, most of these are totally unknown outside of gookland though:

#825 Geisha
#1,059 Yuroshika
#1,231 Utopia
#1,388 Babymetal
#1,812 Ryokuoushoku Shakai
#2,367 Sunkissed Lola
#2,458 Moonstar88
#2,693 Zard
#2,701 Model

"The Last Dinner Party" is absent from your list.

most attractive christian woman, also did Sameer Bhattacharya had to convert to christianity to be part of the band?

are they the ones who don't want single men at their shows? it's not working too great so far, they're #5,741 (slightly above PJ Harvey and Burzum)

1 good song

2 good songs

2 good songs

that you know of

Real Ev fans know the good songs are on The Open Door and Origin (not on Spotify.) Fallen is only good for memeability.

I really like Jinjer. Some sort of alternative metal. Crazy vocal range from the female lead. Don’t know what they’re up to now but they gained some traction in 2016 with their song Pisces.
Also surprised no one has mentioned in this moment

Fallen has good songs but kinda flimsy production. Open Door sounds way better and Origin straight up has better performances and songwriting.
