pay to be a slave goy!

Wow!

Thoughts on this guy

genuine, honest advice with zero shilling (even goes out of his way to recommend the use of free stuff almost exclusively), just wish he covered topics more relevant to the genres I'm into.

That isn't a guy, that's two rectangles and two triangles.

He comes off as a bit of a snob sometimes imo when people ask for advice

based and a chris respector

sidechaining to the kick and not to a separatack click or circ mod

Babby hours

He only comes off like a snob if you're a retarded /beg/ who thinks they know everything and don't like the answers you're hearing

Even when he caveats everything as his way to do it and not the right way, people like you still get offended

Fair enough
He ghost produces though doesn't he? Fairly certain in one of his videos he plays a synth and bass which i've heard in a kream tune i think

bmp

Jesus dude at least add some variation, not everything has to be the same volume
Also chill out on the high hats
Middle part has a little bit potential

didn't know what to expect based on your feedback

lmao when the vocals come in. the parts before have potential with a competent producer but lol

lmao when the vocals come in

That's the only interesting part of the whole mess, the first part is insanely generic dry and monotonous

musically it's doing something write. i can imagine it with better dynamics and produced in a bombastic 00s trap/southern hip hop sound. the rest is just ass

song

No, you made a mess, now clean it up.
Slapping together a bunch of samples sounds like shit if you're not gonna revamp them.

way too basic for me

i wanna get into making music
is it a huge waste of time?

for you since you have to ask, yes

Its probably one of the hardest art hobbies imo.
Ask yourself why 3d modeling, programming etc is flooded by indians and not music prod

instantly jumping to racebait

deworm

maybe i could make some cool outsider music? that's possible right?

Im just pointing out that autistic youtube tutorials and logical thinking dont get you as far in music as in other hobbies

If youre based and creative

Im just pointing out that

this conversation goes so far beyond anything about the music itself dude

i will try, maybe i am based and creative

Im sorry you didnt like it.
Its a bit out there track, i was going for some specific thing and very specific sound which one might get or not get (<- much more likely)

Idm Type track, mixing is the hardest part for me
Sounds good?

my head started hurting after 5 seconds

recommend some good vsts before linksnappy runs out

Good vsts for what?

Sewer Synth V2

I think i'll call you Girl Ears from now on

I'd just start filling my hard drive with tutorials for when we're going to have local AIs that can watch them and do something useful with the information.

VITAL VITAL VITAL

I made this recently. Didn't turn out exactly like I set out for it to, its lacks something. What genre would this be?
soundcloud.com/al-karmichaelmusic/atterdag

I like it, you could probably build on this further. Maybe ease in the intro a bit

Reminds me of classic video game sound tracks, for me the melodies are mixed low and makes the mix feel weak
good overall

NO SHILLING

Opinions on the MC 101? Looking for an all-in-one solution to create some simple cold wave tracks on the sofa. Not the most complex tracks, rather simple and retro.

Korg electribe 2 looks fun too but I don't know if I like that specific korg sound

mc-101_main.jpg - 500x288, 42.55K

doghist, wouldn't get anything under the mc707

Arturia minilab 3

Get an RM1x while you still can. 120v RS7000 has become unobtanium. Soon RM1x will be too.

This one is only a midi controller isn't it? makes it difficult as standalone on the sofa

Ahhh you want standalone standalone
What's your budget? Let's start with that

that looks thicc. Must be nice but also with tons of features. I guess that's more for a desk setup isn't it?

RM1x

Thanks, watching some jams on youtube now

Up to 500€ would be nice. More is possible too if it's worth. Just not teenage engineering 2000€+

grooveboxes are a giant meme. there's still nothing good in that price range

Up to 500€ would be nice

Sorry but forget it buddy, in this price range the best standalone device is a laptop kek

Why do they look so sad in their monkey suits? Did one of the guys in the picture die?

They're not the same people you racist

Yellow magic orchestra is pretty based
Mort Garson and Kraftwerk mit tho when it comes to old synth music

mit tho

Mog tho*

what shines about ymo imo is that overall package of weird english lyrics, their singing and how "asian" they sound. So unique. Like a budget Chinese copy of Kraftwerk but being Japanese and of high quality

i think the parody made some better songs than actual ymo lol. there are only like 2-3 ymo songs i actually like

Under $500 you can easily get a nice new or used one. Korg's grooveboxes are fun.

i don't find them fun

You're saying the people in the bottom picture are not the same people in the top picture?
I might be racist, but I'm pretty sure those are the same people (minus one in the bottom picture)

Some stuff is a pain with them. There's no good way to make a roll. Pattern editor kinda sucks. If I make a jam I like I end up playing it back into a sequencer so I can work on it for real. I like grooveboxes, they're like an ideas scratchpad. I don't make full tunes on them usually.

I have an MC-303, an RM1x, an RS7000 (would really like another one as a spare), the new Korg, couple others. Model Cycles. They're all fun but the only ones that aren't toys are the RM1x and the RS7000. But if you don't like the Yamaha 'way' of how sequencers work you will hate them.

yellow magic orchestra

think its a joke

its real

lol even harder, lmfao even
