nah
too many midwits can't figure out how to make it sound good

need to fuck with parametric EQ to make it not sound like hot ass, for every setting beyond clean

too much effort

Is there a good reason to buy an MIJ Fender outside of preference nowadays? The value is pretty awful when you consider the MIM factory is using the same parts and wood as their Corona factory, yet Japanese Fenders with arguably inferior parts still sell for USA (and even Custom Shop) prices. Do guitar weebs have anything to do with it?

IMG_0510.jpg - 2837x3221, 1.4M

You do not need anything other than a tele

What? you can buy MIJ fenders directly from japan for less than a MIM. check zenmarket.

The only thing i don't really like about MIJ is they use basswood instead of alder.

Katanas are shit

MIJ shortscales clear the current MIM offerings, I can't speak to their Teles and Strats though. You tend to find better deals on jp sites than reverb but factor in the shipping cost too.

bait used to be believable

fpbp. tone studio and the exchange are supreme.

Yeah? I own one faggot.

check zenmarket

Sorry anons I admit I've mostly been looking at Reverb prices, but it is true that the shipping might not make it worth it. On Reverb I've seen contemporary MIJ Teles go for $1k-1.7k and they left me confused as hell (even after having played MIJs) when I can buy a sparkling new MIM Tele for about $700-800.

cab resonance switch

But it is in a cab

I own a product I don't like, take that!

Was Stevie Ray Vaughn secretly a weeaboo?

Ibanez pedal

Wore a Kimoto

Made "Live in Japan"

Stevie was fucking a 17 year old girl who could have been part Asian a couple years before his death

his drugs were prolly asian too

I love Japanese Fenders but the value isn’t there anymore. Like 10 years ago you could get MIJ stuff for not much more than MIM stuff and it was a jump up in quality, nowadays the value is long gone and MIM stuff has exploded in quality. As another anon said MIJ stuff really only excels today in the non standard/oddball stuff from Fender line short scale stuff or some offsets or weird stuff like the Aerodyne stuff. I wouldn’t bother with MIJ for anything like a basic old Strat or Tele or whatever; not much more gets you a better US made guitar and quite a bit less gets you a just as good MIM guitar.

You've never played through a decent amp in your life poorfag, which is why you thought it was bait. Lmao

Fender Japan is the only ones willing to make the 24 fret strat, except it's a signature model for some tiny Asian girl so they shrunk the body too...
I think there was a Korean model at one point, but it was neck thru and carved top, which is gay on a strat

it's a signature model for some tiny Asian girl so they shrunk the body to

R246?

Yea

expensive = decent

tell me you have a small cock without telling me you have a small cock

I have a small cock, but I didn't tell you.

mission accomplished

Affinity tier body

no back cover

weird ass neck profile

bog standard noiseless pups

~$1,100 (excluding whatever import/shipping fees)

has the name of a Gran Turismo circuit

lmao why

IMG_0513.jpg - 850x850, 249.61K

His drugs were German... so... part of the axis, which included Japan.

confirmed weaboo

Don’t get me wrong I love Fender Japan. I’ve had a half dozen MIJ/CIJ Fenders over the years and each one had been great. Electronics kinda suck but I always tweak those anyway so no big deal for me. Japanese Fender necks just feel good, especially their narrower 42mm necks. I really love MIJ stuff but it just doesn’t make sense with how much they cost now being not enough less than US made Fenders to make it worth while. I’d still pounce on a good deal for used MIJ/CIJ stuff in a heartbeat.

I want it so bad >.<
None of my guitars have the backplate
It has 24 frets, and has the Fender logo, that's why I want it. $1,100 is not bad at all for a new Japanese Fender.

Buy the R246 and tell me if it sucks ass so I know whether to buy it or not pls.

Good amps aren't cheap, which is why that piece of shit katana ranks at the top of many best amps under $500 lists. But your mind went straight to cocks in each of your last two posts. That's how I know you are massive faggot. Lmao

Not worth it

image.png - 1876x878, 484.42K

i dont like the bass in this so i will not

It’s not 1200 bucks cute desu

ToT
I neeeeeed it.
Where are the two extra frets you fuckface?

yeah it's not.... I didn't see the price until after I posted

QRD on the aerodyne please. I saw this one going for $250, what's the catch?

i-img600x600.jpg - 600x600, 46.2K

overstock and not enough people like that body to justify the original pricing

No catch, like says lots of overstock. Lots of them are lightweight stripped down thinner body Strats and Teles without pick guards and with hotter pickups in some goofy looking colors. I’ve been tempted by them when they were sold as overstock brand new for sub $500 but never bit the bullet

it's cute.

fair enough, follow your heart, anon.

I see. Blacks not my thing but I am a bit tempted by a really inexpensive guitar that says Fender on it.

one of my locals had one of the blue aerodynes, it looked pretty nice

One thing I learned about this general is that the most vocal posters don't know Shit about gear.

Made in Japan, or supposed to be. I guess, for weebs since mij?

hehe it lookin like it got dookie flakes sprayed on it lmfao

How much did the relicking cost you?

I live in leafistan I apologize

file.png - 1329x825, 490.55K

pays $7k for an unpainted guitar

my condolences

for what it's worth, $5300 usd is $7570 canadian

woa

Yes. $7k is too much for a guitar that is unpainted, pre-beaten up, with the most texan neck joint in the world.
I can get this on craigslist for $200

it has nitro lacquer dough

If you can buy it for 250 and sell it for 7k what the problem is playa?

cool
go try finishing your guitar with it and report back on how it goes

lmao overpaying

It's an investment

no it isn’t retard

stop being poor

give me money

go earn it

I thought y'all said there weren't any poor people on . What happened?

it’s not about being poor it’s about spending stupid money on a gay custom shop current production guitar. Spend less on something like a k line or nachocaster or danocaster or something and get a better guitar or spend a little more on something vintage

uh huh lets see yours then

I got like $39 in my pocket i ain't poor

I'm on the K line website right now. Y'all niggas want anything just dm me your address and measurements, you hurd?

I don’t have any of those. The most I’ve spent on one guitar was just shy of $3500 aka poor by /gg/ standards

Ive been REALLY gassing for a K Line Tele but I don’t need another Tele

what was it

Rosewood Tele

IMG_0494.jpg - 1576x2100, 1004.29K

The laminate telecaster hmmm

i got a jag

jaguar.png - 1080x2131, 3.65M

hey i remember when you bought that thing how do you like it
nah his is the solid rosewood american one not the rosewood/basswood japanese one

that fretboard looks crazy
how is it? i kinda want an offset too

rreee it’s a two piece rosewood body with a sandwiched layer of maple just like the originals except it’s chambered reee
I have a love hate relationship with the Tele selector switch and it would always piss me off by being in the way so I didn’t play it as much but once I flipped the plate and rewired the pots I really fell in love with it and it’s now my second most played guitar only after my Fano

IMG_0580.jpg - 4032x3024, 2.35M

idk yet desu, but i heard theyre good value so i found a used one for 300. now i wait for it to arrive

I’ve read they the Squier Jags need a little love to get them up to snuff but short of going for a Japanese model they’re the best Jag you can get for less than $1500. Plus if you decide a Jag isn’t for you you won’t be out of too much money if you sell it off

can we hear it
i kinda want that johnny marr one

if you watch the gibson custom and fender custom shop tours the fender custom shop actually does alot more hand work than their regular production line whereas the gibson custom shop does stuff exactly the same way as the standard line just with different features and colors

Maybe later tonight I’m making dinner then gotta eat. It’s gonna sound like dookie cuz it’ll be recorded on my iPhone through vocaroo

IMG_0581.jpg - 2100x1576, 795.57K

nice lil collection anon
how's that lp junior?

I mean, at least it doesn't look like it was left in a damp garage for 10 years

file.png - 1312x967, 530.04K

It’s a special. I like it a lot, it feels great and sounds great but it’s really the first guitar with a flatter radius that I’ve had any long term time spent with and I’ve learned I like a rounder radius more than this so it doesn’t get played as much as when I first got it

*bring girl over for the first time*

hey thats a cool guitar!

thanks

i bet its super old, its so beat up lol

actually its pretty new i only bought it a couple months ago

ohhh you mean new to you right?

no i mean i bought it brand new like that

...so it came brand new all beat up? it mustve been cheaper that way..right?

no actually i paid like 2 grand extra for it to look like that

hfw

You lost me at “girl”

dam

das right playa
we pirates here
we like dat booty mhm
nowwhatamsayin

Why did you bring a girl to your studio? Recording her singing?
Vocalists never understand gear. They don't even know the difference between a $100 microphone and a $400 microphone.

relicfags deserve to be mocked and shamed

holy shit ive spent hours shoving sandpaper into this fucking neck

Stop eating sandpaper. It's not good for you.

but the mouth feel is so nice

Hey Tyrone! Thanks for commenting.

I am against Piracy. Musicians make so little off their music that it's important that we try to support our favorite artists in any way we can.
I do like a girl's booty though! Hehe!

Rock on!
Frank.

thanks for setting the record straight frank

i agree Frank

this is obviously fake, you forgot to thank truefire

you ok bro?

when someones in a playing rut i always recommend lessons instead of a new piece of gear

In a drop tuning
0 12 11 9 10 0
7 7 7 9 9 9
0 9 9 7 7 7
7 7 7 x x x

no actually i paid like 2k extra for it to look like that

I’ve owned multiple relic and road-worn guitars and I can confirm you’re an ultrafaggot for this. Either wear it out yourself or buy a genuinely-relic’d guitar.

Pretty good advice.

Why did I think this was Dave Rodgers at first?

Thats not a chibson its a prototype signature model he had with Gibson from the 80s

the headstock is wrong and the truss rod cover has 3 screws, just like the chibsons do.

maxresdefault.jpg - 1280x720, 552.74K

Ah shit youre right lol

I don't know who that guy is, but is he lying about his guitar? Wouldn't be the first.

slash pic1.jpg - 400x536, 54.78K

What was Slash’s lie?

The LP he got big was made by a local luthier apparently.
But yet, he was iconic and good for Gibson that they made him the modern posterboy anyhow. It had a happy ending.

his most famous les paul was actually a fake. it wasn't a real gibson.

he got big with*

gibson should do this

gibson should do something they already did

The flame maple top? I mean, is it that big of a deal? Though I’d argue that Gibson asking $3,000 for something that was originally fake is very very yikes.

hasnt stopped them from releasing a bazillion 59 and 60 reissues has it?

I don't think it's a big deal. I think they all laugh about it now.

tony iommis monkey SG is a fake gibson too

watching? it probably is trogly

that "fake" les paul saved gibson. they were going bankrupt before slash made the LP popular again

so is angus youngs sg

you say that as if gibson hasnt gone bankrupt again

trogly

the same faggot that can’t play a fucking NIN riff right

O am laffin

Superstrats were all the rage then in rock. Everyone wanted to be Eddie. Slash almost ended it. Then grunge further so. I suppose regular Fenders were still popular in the 80s, but I notice more non hard rock guys in the 80s used them. New Wave, punks, pop, etc..

I don't even know any NIN riffs. He's got me beat on that. Head Like a Hole was one of the first things I learned on bass, but I don't think the original is a bass.

hes really embarrassing
ive always looked at him like a poseur version of joe bobamassa, bonamassa can actually play and collects high quality vintage gear while trogly cant play and is too poor for even a single 50s goldtop

50s goldtop

it belongs in a museum

not troglys "museum" lmfaoo

Anon I’m a massive NINfag and I can attest that you only need like half a braincell to play Last or March of the Pig. Trogly is an absolute hack and it doesn’t help that his tones sound like hot garbage as well

It sounds all serious here, like he's interrogating him. I've seen Slash be a bit more cheeky about it.

Trogly is lame because he bitches and moans about the teeniest tiniest imperfections. “This one screw wasn’t fully tightened/was over tightened” “this used guitar has faint scratch marks on the pickguard from being played and shouldn’t have been listed as very good condition” “this one single fret wasn’t polished well enough so I’m going to return it and get another one” he’s such a whiny bitch baby who doesn’t actually play any of his guitars because if he played any of them he’d lose his mind that his strings have marks from a pick hitting them and smudges from his fingers.

I just don't know many songs by name. I'm a geezer who mostly listened to the first album when I was young.

I dont really buy this one. If we’re talking 60s-70s it was hard to get a half-decent Gibson clone unless you were in Japan or something.

kickass m8

Meanwhile Martin invented the dreadnaught and it's practically ubiqutous as "generic guitar" and everyone makes a dread (including Gibson, which are great). They don't raise hell about it, although I doubt they could do anything if they even wanted to. Martin even makes kits to build your own dread.
I understand IP and all that, but I think they're a bit too aggressive.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's why Mustaine is on Gibson now. They harassed awhile back for all kinds of shit.

Yeah the way he goes on about playability and tone and stuff when he fucking sucks just rubs me the wrong way
Like why hasnt he even tried to get lessons? its embarrassing

They harassed DEAN*

Gibson even forced sweetwater to stop carrying dean guitars because they got humiliated in their lawsuit.
It got bought by private equity in 2019 and has been a corporate vampire ever since, its sad. I know fender wouldnt of been able to buy them because of anti trust concerns, but i wish someone that can actually run a fucking guitar buisness would step up to the plate and take them over .

his first SG that he used on the first couple of albums was a walnut 70s one and later a black SG custom, then he had a couple of custom SG's made by Jaydee. the ones with lightning bolt inlays. he used those throughout the 80s when AC/DC was at it's peak. when Gibson started the custom shop they built replicas of those Jaydee customs.

1200.jpg - 1200x1769, 1.25M

apparently the mark iic+ reissues have self oscillation/squealing issues lmao
Gibson just cant help stepping on rakes that they themselves put in their path

I think Fender has finally given up on doing anything outside their specialty. They let Gretsch and Guild go and they're all better for it. They still make Charvel and EVH, but those are like the Superstrat daddies and in Fender's camp.

The Tak Matsumoto Les Paul DC and Asuka Telecaster videos are probably the worst Trogly videos imho. They’re a combination of utter lack of knowlof the subject matter, missing the point, embarrassingly bad playing and his usual annoying anal behavior.

IMG_0517.jpg - 1280x720, 139.93K

I'd love that Tele, but it's way too much.

Doesnt fender distribute gretsch but its still run by the original owners or whatever?
but yeah theyve got an ideal business model
Fenders for the vintage spec stuff, charvels for the modern spec stuff, Jackson for the metal stuff and EVH for the amps (the guitars are a boondoggle imo)

Thats nice but could you play a little less antisemitic? Your tone is dripping with racism.

lack of knowledge on the subject matters*

Sorry had an aneurysm there.

and ofc gibson is making a crude fascimile of the fender model by reviving kramer while completely missing the point by having them be cheap trash instead of high quality instruments and then buying mesa boogie and immediately stepping on yet another fucking rake by way of awful PR surrounding randalls firing and the reissue debacle

in other news, Marshall finally got a fucking clue and slashed the prices on all of their amps by like 50 percent

Put an overdrive on my lil bass amp. It chugs
voca.ro/14F7PJKQQtV0

Where at? I'm not noticing any price change here.

I like everything about this but the gradient, should've been solid red

are those pickups any good?

Ah, I was just looking at low tier. I bought an Origin some months back, but turned it back. But now I kind of want one again (same price atm @800).

2700 for head???

I'll give you head for $50

What's even the point of buying several amps now... just get the one that suits you and your style the best and model the other ones. I'm not carrying 2 fuckin amps around.

Explain how I know which amp suits my style without using it

ideally you'll have a backup amp for when the first one shits itself on stage

Mostly by listening to it. Any place worth a damn will let you try an amp firsthand without buying it too.

I think most high gain would be great for anyone. They just get a bad rep for being associated with metal, but that's not all they can do. They just happen to do that better than anything else.
