Holy shit

holy shit

overrated

Ah, to be 14 again :^]

Yes, it's the best metal band and only posers with ulterior motives of pretension and ego disagree.

It just doesn't stack up with MoP

Metallica are too slow. Good entry level band though.

they are slow compared to pretty much any other thrash band

that's why they won

they won because they were in the right place at the right time

really desperate for attention today i see

Girls like Metallica. Men like Megadeth.

It's true. They are a fairly slow-tempo thrash band. You just don't listen to any other metal besides the big four so you have a very small frame of reference.

we need to talk about this. this album is so iconic. it is everything. i'm literally crying when I listen to it

In that video they're as fast as anyone in thrash, except that song is harder to pull off at that speed than typical 1-2 thrash stuff. So that's a retarded statement

my biggest complain about it is that thingy on the cover not being some cool flying vehicle
took me a couple of years to randomly notice it's an electric chair

shame they don't play that way on their albums

i get to see them live for the first time in 2 weeks :)

you won't see the RtL era Metallica, just some dudes trying to impersonate them decades later

based. you'll enjoy it. seeing them again in june. every time i've seen them they just get better (they fucking better given how much tickets cost).

Saw them twice, up there with Radiohead as probably the best concert I've been to

Metallica wouldn't be half as big as they are if they weren't the first thrash band with an album out and that's all thanks to Dave.

it's funny how much more popular metallica is compared to the other big 4, it should be called big 1 and friends

It's the songwriting, stupid. Kill em all is good, but they only really started to get good once they started shaking off Dave's mediocrity

funny

It's because they can actually write songs that people can sing along to or remember. While the other 3 only appeal to metalheads and no normal person could name a single song by any of them

Dave's mediocrity put them on the map. Without Dave they wouldn't even have a record deal in 83, let alone enough songs for it. Also no Cliff either. Also diminishing the importance of KEA in their rise is absolutely retarded. Being quite literally the first thrash band with an album out is probably the most important thing for their career.

I like Am i evil from this album

as any other being who wins
in music terms i agree with anon about having slower, more melodic songs being the key to going more mainstream than any other thrash metal band
not that i care tho

Metallica won because their songs are full of pop music hooks. This isn't criticism, it's impressive that they could do this and still rock (at least for the first five albums).

are you evil tho?

out of 18 total songs across their first 2 albums, dave only helped write 6 of them.

Without Dave they wouldn't even have a record deal in 83

??? dave had nothing to do with this lmao this was all lars' networking.

you shitstaine ball huffers are so fucking insufferable.

Lmao and how would Lars' "network" account to no live gigs, no popularity and no songs for a full album? You think he was that fucking big that they would get a record deal just by sitting at home and jerking off?

And who said anything about Ride? By the time they released their second album they were already the biggest thing on the thrash scene, all thanks to KEA.

More like you Metallica fanboys can't face the reality that were Dave not in the band, shy James, average Lars and Ron would've done fuck all for who knows how much longer.

Get off the computer Dave

average Lars

Lars started by going to England to hang out with Diamond Head and learn how to play metal from them. All the Diamond Head covers Metallica did are tribute to this. Regardless of what you think of him as a person or a drummer, you have to admit Lars had a shitload more ambition and work ethic than most musicians.

I am man

Can't even refute what I said.

None of that matters though. He was still not that great compared to other drummers in thrash, even the rest of Metallica thought that. Sure he has ambition and all but none of that mattered in 83. Metallica wouldn't have been the first thrash band with an album without Dave.

Can't refute what he said

"n-none of that matters..."

Lmao. If it wasn't for Lars, the band would have released a couple demos and then broken up by the mid 80s. James would have drank himself to death and Dave would have ODed shortly after

Are all Metallica fanboys as retarded as you and can't even respond to given information or are you a special case?

I still haven't heard how James, Lars and Ron would've gotten a record deal in 83 when they had no gigs or songs.

shitstaine's cumslurping fluffer doesn't realize this is an anonymous imageboard where you can be talking with multiple people

My first post ITT is the one you're replying to retard.

And here I thought you couldn't get any more retarded.
