I was at GC the other day and I saw this gorgeous hunk of a man trying out ukuleles, he was singing Neal Young but it kinda sounded like Depeche Mode, he didn't have the ukulele tuned like most people do, he was playing it like some sort of miniature guitar which was kinda funny watching a huge hunk of a man with ronnie coleman dimensions straight shredding this little instrument, but I digress, I just had to ask him where he learned to play like that and just smirked and said something under his breath that sounded like "you seeing this" and then went back to jamming.

The high b string will fuck with you for a while. You could raise it so it becomes easier to mute but it won't sound right if you raise it too much.

My problem with CAGED is that I get stuck playing in boxes. I don't know my modes either so it's a good way to learn them vertically

If you're a beginner reading this then just give up. If you try to learn guitar past the age of 18 you're wasting you time away. If I couldn't do it I know none of you idiots will be able to either.
Picture the sm-57 close miced to the edge of the speaker, 45° angle to the surface. Any large diaphragm condenser can be used as a room mic. Place it as far away from the amp as you can, or down a stairway or hallway. And mix it in with the sm-57. Also you can place a ribbon mic on the electric guitar like you would an acoustic, turn the pre amp up and if you are in a control room you get the pure acoustic sound of the unplugged electric guitar. But could also work in the room with the amp. You can mix that in. Three very different sounds by utilizing microphone placement. And if you record each signal to a track you can eq and compress/gate them separately.

My scale is out of batteries so I don’t have an exact weight but it’s the heaviest of all of my electrics. Not uncomfortably heavy but it’s on the dense side. Mine is a first gen one though which are solid, the current production ones are chambered so not as heavy as this

I usually use a pick, but also like using the fingers. I noticed how the fast licks you are able to play are different. So when switching back and forth within one performance you can get a wide variety of riffs. I sometimes hybrid pick (holding the pick and using the other fingers as well), but not that often. I use harp harmonics by holding the pick between my thumb and middle finger and using my index finger to hold the hamonic 12 frets above the note I'm holding with the left hand. And as you are holding the harmonic you pluck behind the index finger. It will make a harmonic out of any note. It's easier to use just the index finger and thumb plucking behind it, if you just want to try it out quick.
I just pinch the harmonic with my thumb like god intended.
