"full transparency: I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it. The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it. All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief. To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first six that I thought couldn't be improved upon by redoing it. Not the music, or photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off."
She continued, "There will be a time (if you're into the idea) for the unreleased Vault tracks from that album to hatch. I've already completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now. Those two albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about. But if it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now."
Tay-Tay is struggling to re-record Reputation
I literally do not give a shit and don't know why anyone else would either
All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief.
genuinely can't fathom being so obsessed with myself, it's like a foreign concept to me
that's just like Perry Como, innit? wouldn't rerecord his old stuff because he thought you can only do a song once and you'd lose the "magic" if you redid it.
Well just imagine millions of people telling you who you are and nearly all of them getting it wrong, even when their reflection is positive
it's ridiculous isn't it
she owns all her music now! :D
The re-recording was just a grift to fleece her fans again. Now, they can buy all 57 versions!
Rep is probably her best album, except maybe folklore.
The only song I ever want to hear of hers again is Shake it Off.
yeah forgot to add this, she just bought her old masters for reportedly "between $600m and $1b"
probably because it was her only song that isn't a textbook exercise in solipsism
thanks for letting us know anon
billboard is saying 300 mil
billboard.com
That song is gay. It sounds like that other annoying song Happy
For me it's "We are never getting blacked together"
have you listened to the lyrics?
$300m was the original deal in 2021, it looks like the "$600m-$1b" reports have been debunked though and it might be closer to $400m
re-recording an album literally no one likes
That is such a cringe combo of picture and headline. God I hate journalists. They might as well only appeal to retarded 13 year olds
"Yeah I'm flexing over the fact I got jewed over my own music!" Yeah congrats
Now she can re-re-release them and her vapid fanbase will shell out more cash for the same old garbage. I saw some people go "finally we can listen to the real songs again", basically admitting the Taylor’s Versions were crap and nothing more than a cashgrab.
Also lol at her not releasing Rep TV when Swiftie‘s have been eating up every shitty easter egg she dropped.
I bought this album just for the poster
i remember when she used nazi propaganda during this rollout and out of nowhere she went full queerbaiting with feminism and gay rights
imagine that the perspective of other people can never be true to one's own authentic self
god i hate vapid pop sluts
different people care about different things. that's why.
what was the poster
Poodle hair blue outfit. I came all over it 13 times, as Tay commands.
might be closer to $400m
it will be interesting to see how she recoups her investment. She'll probably license her recordings in a million commercials and TV shows, get ready to here her songs everywhere. Also she will re-issue physical boxes sets even though most zoomers dont own CD players she will probably package them in new versions maybe original and TV together to scam collectors into buying them.
as Tay commands
That's not true. You're lying. You would never do that, it's not possible
I remember when the lawsuit over her catalog were public. Many were claiming she and her family were savvy and smart business people.
If that was true, how the hell did they lose rights to her music in the first place?
show the music industry who's boss
She lost the rights to her music then had to buy them back.
She really is the female Bruce Springsteen.
rePUTA
you didn't read enough about it.
her/her family didn't lose the rights. they never had them. she has them now.
I won’t be listening to it
reputation came with a poster? i don't remember that
If that was true, how the hell did they lose rights to her music in the first place?
Her dad was a board member of her original record company and knew about the deal before hand even though she claimed to have been blindsided. The whole thing was probably set up to lower the price she had to pay by creating this beef over her music painting her as the victim of evil white males. She made the original recordings worth less to the new owners by refusing to license them for new uses. As the songwriter they needed her permission.
the reputation pics were all black and white. and there was no poster
Bought my cd new
It's cope for being an empty vapid whore. You see it in male models who lug around a copy of Les Chants du Maldoror or some Dérrida type of shii.
Les Chants du Maldoror
Any good?
No one is forcing her to re-record it. She could just choose not to.
Mindblowing concept right? Just let the original album stand as it is
